On July 10, 2019, also known as my birthday, my good friend Danny and I headed up to Edison, NJ to chase the Raritan Central Railroad around during their morning operations throughout the Raritan Center Industrial Park.
We arrived at Conrail's Metuchen Yard around 6:30 AM to see job RC-1 working the yard with their inbounds, headed up by GP30M 5 and GP38 2244, which were being worked hard as they set out their cars and picked up cars to take back to the Raritan Center with them. We chased RC-1 to Fieldcrest Avenue in Edison as the train made their way back to the yard.
After taking their usual breakfast break, the RC-1 crew headed back out to work, using one of their "new" former Georgia Central GP20s, RCRY 2092, to shuffle the inbound cars around, making a great deal of noise and exhaust while doing so before calling it an early day around 10 AM.
Meanwhile the 8 AM crew, RC-2 is seen pulling empties off the Northfield Runner and back into the RC Yard with the GP38/GP30M pair.
Thanks for watching!
