That is a GMC (“Electro Motive Division”) BL-2 ! It was an experiment of a cross between F-9 and a GP-9 ! The state of Florida or rather the (“ Florida East Coast”), only bought six of them 601 to 606 ! They lasted over 10 years and the Florida East Coast put them to good use when they were getting ready to retire and they weren’t quite ready because they still had good amount of hours still left on them so they put them to do yard duty and hump yards ! And by the way, that is an AHM model ! I own 3 BL-2’s myself in the Champion Colors ! One in “O”, “HO”, and “N” too !!! 🚂🌊🐺

Happy birthday! That 8-axle tender looks like the one for the old Bachmann 4-8-4 Northern, which was available in BN, CP, SF, and CN liveries. I got the CN one for Christmas in 1979. I also have one of those Mehanotechnika trolley sets - got it when I was 10 (1980). I still have it and it still runs.

Yes Harrison, you were correct ! That was a GP-7/9 now as far as the the 2 BL-2’s !!! The first one you pulled out, I’m not Familiar with that RR ! But, The second I laid eyes on that (“Champion paint job”), from the good ole (Florida East Coast), I knew you had yourself a good engine ! It was made by AHM !!! Now when you grabbed that long blue and yellow Box with the double trolley system from AHM, I have not seen that system or that set for more than 30 years ! You get a powered trolley and you have a dummy trolley ! I also noticed you got another ‘Cox’ model but in a different box ! Now as far as the (“Athearn complete train set”), you got, an Alco PB-1 A-B-A set Plus the RailRoad Mail/baggage car, coach, diner, I think two Vista Domes, and the observation car !!!! Back in the day when I used to work at the hobby shop that’s set alone would set someone back about $150.00 ! But, like I said, they were for back then ! 🌊🐺

Wow 19 huh happy birthday. I remember being 19 i got my first car and had my first cellphone . it was a tracfone that had the flashlight. Very. Nice of someone sending you these things. Few times on birthday or Christmas since mine is december 2nd I got train set or things but between moving etc most is gone however I remember my model power stuff i wish i had things that I aquired but thats how it goes when not having storage boxes for stuff my fault at a young age. What was funny was how I used to hear not sure what to get matt it was quite obvious lol trains,tools, or computer related . never quite worked that way don't get why but eh it is what it is. Glad you had a good day.

The rock ialand was bought by a man named Robert Reilly, and he lives here in Mississippi. The rock island railroad road runs in north mississippi in Webb. A family friend of mine is really good friends with him and when they were revealing the new 4310, i was a le to ride in the cab of the 4373. It was my first time riding in the cab of a locomotive.
