Lots of neat ideas. I have 5 children also all out of the house now. Big party’s were rare but we as a family always sat around the table and I had made a cake not fancy but we put in candles of however old they were and sang happy birthday. Gave a gift and the others often made cards it wasn’t much but as you said it made them feel special.

I agree, it doesn’t have to be about spending lots of money. Slowing it down and appreciating the birthday person w/ special family traditions is the way to do it! ❤

Wonderful ideas to make someone feel special, just wish they made compostable balloons. 500 balloons going into the landfill annually is a lot, especially if one multiplies that by every viewer who decides to take up the balloon idea.
