For Indian Audience , Netflix needs to do only one thing , A set of research team on each regional zones of India and a proper and thorough research on regional content. I feel netflix doesn't have any X factor, where others have different different unique selling joint . For example disney + dumped Binge culture made by netflix reverted back to the traditional weekly episode. Which means subscribers will not watch the whole show in its free trial. Thats why even after realising blockbuster show like squid game last year they are failing.

They have to be competitive in pricing. When that doesn't it will be shut down. In terms of franchise content, Disney scores over it In terms of drama content, HBO takes the pie In terms of Indian shows, Sony LIV and Amazon prime takes the pie It didn't invest in sports also. How the hell can it be competitive in Indian Market. It didn't invest enough in South Indian content, if you ask me South people are crazy about their movies than north people. Their model in India is a disaster for them. Without capitalising in India, it is impossible for them to be profitable as they achieved their potential in US and Europe. Having said that content is also miserable. It will die as it can't cope up with Big Studios like WB and Disney. BTW binge watch is the USP of Netflix, if they threw it away then the fall will be even faster

It is quite clear the difference is not just about weekly episodes, the cost of Netflix and cost of Disney plus hotstar is like fire and ice, even the way Netflix is realising half half season in volumes which is very wrong for example stranger things 4 they kept season ending only for two episodes which does even make any sense. And most importantly main reason Netflix is failing because they are not admitting their mistakes they are only blaming password sharing for their loses which is not right.

Netflix can increase it's subscribers by two ways 1) Lower the rate of subscription to say a yearly plan costing 1000-1500 per year 2) Make indian based content with good Indian directors containing indian culture and traditions.

Hotstar is 1500 , Amazon prime is 1000 per year. Where as Netflix cost more than 5k per year to have HD content. Indians will always looks for better deals . So Netflix need to launch yearly package by even selling discount for new subscriber and students. Then they will regain the place in competition. By the way Amazon prime give discounts to students on thier subscription.

OR Like Disney + take the Marvel brand and a Fan would definitely wait a week to watch the next episode. Netflix have tried this by splitting there super hit shows like Money Heist and Strange Things in two volumes.

The business model of OTT as whole is not sustainable at all.. You can't expect people to pay for the entire monthly plan when someone just want to watch a single film/series 🤷‍♂️ meanwhile when they can find it on telegram in high quality on the exact same date of release... OTT is only good for releasing small budget indie films not 150-200cr films as they can never recover even the budget

2 major bloopers by nf i think 1) extremely costly monthly plan, i still remember i paid 800rs a month initially. When they realise and launched 199 mobile only plan it was too late 2) they overlooked hindi and regional language content after sacred games All still not lost, we going to see lot of consolidation in ott market. No prominent regional movies until last year.... They started purchasing regional films aggressively now.... Netflix is not suitable for Indian atmosphere.. Because it produces it's own series amd spends more money on new content but not focuses on reginonal content and even plans are very high..
