Keep in mind that Jesus never requires that a miracle take place for the elements of the Lord's Supper to become (for the recipient) the body and blood of Jesus. BY FAITH a man eats the flesh and drinks the blood of Jesus - not by miracle. The requirement for a miracle is a stipulation, later added by the clergy, in order to justify their existence. No miracle / no clergy. No clergy / no Catholicism. "Do this in memory of me" does not require a miracle.

I can't imagine anything more beautiful than the Eucharist. It is literally Christ becoming one with us, not just in a spiritual sense (which he does in the eucharist) but in a PHYSICAL sense as well. In the eucharist, we become wedded with Christ, body and soul. This is what will happen in heaven. The mass is heaven brought down to earth.

He said in John 6:63 "It is the Spirit who gives life [the Holy Spirit]; the flesh profits NOTHING [my emphasis]. THE WORDS THAT I SPEAK TO YOU ARE SPIRIT, and they are life." Jesus said He would go away and send the Holy Spirit in His stead until He came back. Jesus often spoke words people misinterpreted and didnt seem to try and clear up the meaning with those outside His close disciples...

Bob, how do you explain the Eucharistic miracles then? How do you explain the host that was consecrated over 1000 years ago which is bleeding to this day? How do you explain the Eucharistic miracle in Argentina in the 1990s with the same phenomenon? How do you explain how the blood pouring out of both is the exact same blood type, traced back to an adult, middle eastern man? Jesus has shown Himself many times through Eucharistic miracles. One time, soldiers were raiding a Catholic church, and they planned to loot everything (including the Tabrnacle). When one of the soldiers planned to take the Eucharist out of the Tabernacle, flames bursted out as he opened the doors. The Eucharist is Jesus. The miracles should be good enough evidence. There is a reason why many had died for the Blessed Sacrament

Talk about rambling, your response is full of it, obscurantist obfuscating nonsense. What was it my Dad was told, in the army...."baffle them with bull#### son, baffle them with bulls###".... Golden cherubim never saved a soul, although they probably looked real nice. I know you papists love to mention that to try to justify your mary idolatry and your super ornate religious altars and your inane religious theater ("iconography" LOL). But all they ultimately did, eventually, was clearly and definitively prove just how much sinners needed the sinless lamb of God. I mean they even made an idol out of Moses's bronze snake... The pharisees never got that (mere forms of godliness that deny the power thereof) and neither do catholics, because both alike are blind and proud.

+kent david robinson DONT BE COME A CATHOLIC.Catholicism is NOT Christian, and is one of, if not THE, biggest heresy against the Lord Jesus Christ.
@PaperTrailsAnimation
@PaperTrailsAnimation 9 жыл бұрын
***** 1 John 2:19 That is where you people came from! You came from Christianity, but you were NOT Christian. Also, DRINKING BLOOD IS A SIN. Its a sin before the Law, during the Law, and AFTER the Law. So, if Jesus Christ was literal, he made salvation come through sinning. HOW DOES THAT WORK ? Also, if he drank his own blood, he would be a sinner, therefore he wouldn't be God, nor the perfect Lamb of God. So, you have NO salvation (If he drank his own blood), according to basic doctrines, that Jesus Christ was perfect.
@PaperTrailsAnimation
@PaperTrailsAnimation 9 жыл бұрын
***** Why certainly ! Before I type it, if there is a sin that God doesn't want us doing, I think, personally, that he would make it pretty clear. Make it universally bad, for ALLL time. Also, keep in mind, pleasing God is the goal. You put down your beliefs and search after God more than anything else, and if you think there is a chance you believed something against him, see. Do it for the Lord Jesus Christ. Before the Law. Genesis 9:4 Doesn't prove too much. Leviticus 17:11-14 CATHOLIC PROBLEM! If Jesus Christ drank his own blood, then, well he just sinned, and his therefore, NOT PERFECT. But he is perfect. But, we don't know that the did drink his own blood there or not, so lets just assume he didn't. He just made his 12 disciples sin. Wow. Isn't sin what keeps us away from God ? But, if that's just Old Testament Law, before Jesus Christ died, then surely, the Catholic Whore would not cause any to sin right ? Well Gods word is pretty perfect, and wants to make it clear, what you should NOT do concerning blood. Acts 15:20 Acts 15:29 Well, CATHOLIC PROBLEM! So, Jesus Christ, told his disciples to sin during the Old Testament Law, sin keeps us away from God, and in the New Testament Law, he made salvation be found through SIN. Well, either that or its symbolic, and explains why Mark 6:37 looks like its saying to eat on disciples too, that's a neat trick, and it also explains why you HARDLY ever hear about eating of Jesus Christ ever again, but hear believe on him. Does that not make sense ?
@PaperTrailsAnimation
@PaperTrailsAnimation 9 жыл бұрын
***** Because he was being symbolic! He was right there! When they started eating the bread did he feel pain ? No, because his body was the perfect sacrifice and through the shedding of his, Gods own blood, can we be saved. THAT IS WHY, you don't hear much about eating or drinking anymore from that point on. They say believe believe believe. Its believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. Show me where it says, eat this cookie and be saved. Ok, for sake of discussion, lets assume that the Genesis passage is just talking about meats. Lets just say, you still got to deal with it being a sin in the Law, and a sin AFTER the Law.

Clement of Alexandria, “Elsewhere the Lord, in the Gospel according to John, brought this out by symbols, when He said: "Eat ye my flesh, and drink my blood; " describing distinctly by metaphor the drinkable properties of faith and the promise, by means of which the Church, like a human being consisting of many members, is refreshed and grows” Tertullian, “ They thought His discourse was harsh and intolerable, supposing that He had really and literally enjoined on them to eat his flesh, He, with the view of ordering the state of salvation as a spiritual thing, set out with the principle, It is the spirit that quickens; and then added, The flesh profits nothing - meaning, of course, to the giving of life. He also goes on to explain what He would have us to understand by spirit: The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. In a like sense He had previously said: He that hears my words, and believes in Him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but shall pass from death unto life. Constituting, therefore, His word as the life-giving principle, because that word is spirit and life,” Repent of your idolatry. Worshiping a wafer in a monstrance? Stop it. Straight outta pagan Rome. Come on, you should know better! Repent.

Greek word to gnaw on Him and devour Him? I agree: Tertullian: “We ought therefore to desire Him in order that we may have life, and to devour Him with the ear, and to ruminate on Him with the understanding, and to digest Him by faith.” Christ’s words are true life and those who devour the Word have eternal life. If you wanna claim RCC being rooted in the Ante-Nicene Fathers then take all their writings not just a select few out of context from Ignatius and Justin Martyr. Isn’t it ironic how Paul mentions the church to flee from idolatry just before he mentions the Lord’s supper. Start preaching the truth sir. And more importantly repent of your idolatry.

2 Samuel 23 15-17 "nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD. 17 And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives?" This is speaking of David pouring some water on the ground. Did the water turn to blood? why did David say "is not this the blood of the men?" when speaking of the water?

@@colegest9742 The church fathers, across the board, made it abundantly clear that they believed in the True Presence. The church for over 1500 years made it abundantly clear that they believed in the True Presence (and still do). Even the early Protestants made it abundantly clear that they believed in the True Presence. History has a name for the pseudo-theological outliers that viewed the Eucharist as a symbol. They're called heretics. It's unfortunate that you can count your name among them. However, we are all on a journey and God desires all of us to grow closer to Him. Here are a few non-heretics including Tertullian and Clement of Alexandria, who's names you invoked, among other church fathers who preceded them. *St. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 110 A.D.)* They [i.e. the Gnostics] abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not confess that THE EUCHARIST IS THE FLESH OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. (Letter to Smyrnians 7:1) I have no taste for corruptible food nor for the pleasures of this life. I desire the Bread of God, WHICH IS THE FLESH OF JESUS CHRIST, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I DESIRE HIS BLOOD, which is love incorruptible. (Letter to the Romans 7:3) *St. Justin the Martyr (c. 100 - 165 A.D.)* For not as common bread nor common drink do we receive these; but since Jesus Christ our Savior was made incarnate by the word of God and had both flesh and blood for our salvation, so too, as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by Him, AND BY THE CHANGE OF WHICH our blood and flesh is nourished, IS BOTH THE FLESH AND THE BLOOD OF THAT INCARNATED JESUS. (First Apology, 66) *Irenaeus of Lyons (C. 140 - 202 A.D.)* But what consistency is there in those who hold that the bread over which thanks have been given IS THE BODY OF THEIR LORD, and the cup HIS BLOOD, if they do not acknowledge that He is the Son of the Creator… How can they say that the flesh which has been nourished BY THE BODY OF THE LORD AND BY HIS BLOOD gives way to corruption and does not partake of life? …For as the bread from the earth, receiving the invocation of God, IS NO LONGER COMMON BREAD BUT THE EUCHARIST, consisting of two elements, earthly and heavenly… (Against Heresies 4:18:4-5) When, therefore, the mixed cup and the baked bread receives the Word of God and BECOMES THE EUCHARIST, THE BODY OF CHRIST, and from these the substance of our flesh is increased and supported, how can they say that the flesh is not capable of receiving the gift of God, WHICH IS ETERNAL LIFE -- flesh which is nourished BY THE BODY AND BLOOD OF THE LORD…receiving the Word of God, BECOMES THE EUCHARIST, WHICH IS THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST… (Against Heresies 5:2:2-3) *Clement of Alexandria (c. 150 - 216 A.D.)* ""Eat my flesh," He says, "and drink my blood." The Lord supplies us with these intimate nutriments. He Delivers over his flesh, and pours out his blood; and nothing is lacking for the growth of His children. O incredible mystery!" (Instructor of Children 1:6:42,1,3) "The Blood of the Lord, indeed, is twofold. There is His corporeal Blood, by which we are redeemed from corruption; and His spiritual Blood, that with which we are anointed. That is to say, to drink the Blood of Jesus is to share in His immortality. The strength of the Word is the Spirit just as the blood is the strength of the body. Similarly, as wine is blended with water, so is the Spirit with man. The one, the Watered Wine, nourishes in faith, while the other, the spirit, leads us on to immortality. *The union of both, however, - of the drink and of the Word, - is called the Eucharist, a praiseworthy and excellent gift.*" (Instructor of the Children (2,2,19,4) *Tertullian (c. 155 - 250 A.D.)* The flesh feeds on THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST, so that the SOUL TOO may fatten on God. (Resurrection of the Dead 8:3) *Origen (c. 185 - 254 A.D.)* We give thanks to the Creator of all, and, along with thanksgiving and prayer for the blessings we have received, we also eat the bread presented to us; and this bread BECOMES BY PRAYER A SACRED BODY, which sanctifies those who sincerely partake of it.(Against Celsus 8:33) You see how the ALTARS are no longer sprinkled with the blood of oxen, but consecrated BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST. (Homilies on Joshua 2:1) You are accustomed to take part in the divine mysteries, so you know how, when you have received THE BODY OF THE LORD, you reverently exercise every care lest a particle of it fall, and lest anything of the consecrated gift perish….how is it that you think neglecting the word of God a lesser crime than neglecting HIS BODY? (Homilies on Exodus 13:3) *Cyprian of Carthage (c. 200-258 A.D.)* He Himself warns us, saying, "UNLESS YOU EAT THE FLESH OF THE SON OF MAN AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, YOU SHALL NOT HAVE LIFE IN YOU." Therefore do we ask that our Bread, WHICH IS CHRIST, be given to us daily, so that we who abide and live in Christ may not withdraw from His sanctification and from His Body. (The Lord's Prayer 18) *Cyril of Jerusalem (c. 350 A.D.)* For just as the bread and the wine of the Eucharist before the holy invocation of the adorable Trinity were simple bread and wine, but the invocation having been made, the bread becomes the Body of Christ and the wine the Blood of Christ…(Catechetical Lectures 19 [Mystagogic 1], 7)

Dear Father Barron, what an excellent talk on the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. That fact was one of main reasons why I converted from an old Protestant Denomination to become Roman Catholic when I was 27 y/o.. God called me into the Catholic Church. I was content with the Protestant Church I worshipped at when I was 25 y/o. It was anti Catholic as all Protestant churches were then, but not rabidly anti-Catholic. I met a Catholic Priest that my brother knew and we became friends. About 2 years after we met He was invited to give a guest homily at the church he had been assigned to so I said yes. I know this is long but I think important. When he gave the homily I was extremely impressed that he seemed to speak from his heart and not from his head. During the homily I saw a light red light coming from his mouth, going to the people in the pews and filling them up. Every single person was leaning forward in rapt attention. The thought came into my mind, "If the Catholic Church can produce a man like this, then it can't be all bad! I had decided not to partake of the Eucharist because I knew it was against Church rules and I didn't want to offend anyone. As I was sitting in the pew watching the people go up to partake of the Eucharist I suddenly experienced a warm, caring, masculine Presence and then these words came into mind in the form of thoughts, "Al, would you refuse me?" The experience scared me as I had never experienced anything like this before and the Protestant churches don't talk about anything like this. I continued to stand by my decision to not take the Eucharist but a 2nd time I had a repeat of the exact same experience. Anyway, it was not until Jesus said to me a 3rd time, "Al would you refuse me?".; that I felt I could not take a chance of refusing Jesus if my experience was real. God after that lead me into some other Spiritual experiences and I became certain that, that had been Jesus talking to me! That experience was the main thing to cause me t5o convert and join the Catholic Church. What ever problems there might be in the Catholic Church, I know beyond any doubts that It is the real body of Jesus in the Eucharist. I would tell you more if you were interested and you sent me a private message. God bless you dear Father Barron. Amen

Lezith456 The Eucharist sacrifice contradicts the word of God, for example " Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself." (Hebrew 7:27) Jesus Christ sacrificed himself once and for all on the cross. We don't need to sacrifice Jesus over and over again. Also when Jesus Christ said "it is finished" on the cross he meant it!

@@findev6330 Catholics agree that Jesus died once and for all and that you don't need to sacrifice Jesus over and over again, nor could they if they tried. The myth that Catholics sacrifice Jesus anew every week (technically it'd be every day if it were true) is one of many unfortunate falsehoods that protestant communities propagate amongst themselves, hopefully unknowingly. So, please allow me to correct this misunderstanding for you. The Catholic Catechism states: 1367 CCC: The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: "The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different." "And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner. . . this sacrifice is truly propitiatory." In short, Catholics believe it's one sacrifice. Jesus died once for the sins of all. Catholics do not believe that Jesus is, or needs to be, slain on a daily.

Eucharist(Misinterpretation due to Parables) false according to scriptures: Hebrews 7:27 declares, "Unlike the other high priests, He (Jesus) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins ONCE for all when He offered Himself." Similarly, 1 Peter 3:18 exclaims, "For Christ died for sins ONCE for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God..." Christ's once-for-all death on the cross was sufficient to atone for all of our sins (1 John 2:2). Therefore, Christ's sacrifice does not need to be re-offered. Instead, Christ's sacrifice is to be received by faith (John 1:12; 3:16). Eating Christ's flesh and drinking His blood are symbols of fully receiving His sacrifice on our behalf, by grace through faith.

nicholas diaz Hey Nick; Are you saying that what some/most Catholics believe, the bread and the wine becomes the physical body and blood of Jesus or not? That is my real struggle. Because, I know/believe with all my being that if I profess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he is my Savior, I have been excepted into the eternity of heaven. I also struggle with the amount of worship that is done to the Eucharist (and Mary and Joesph for that matter) in our local church. I think people are sometimes missing the point of our mission here on earth. Worship God His Son, YYES, but go and tell people about Jesus. GET OUT OF THE PEWS, spread the GOOD NEWS!

SkepticalRationalist.. . .Perhaps you need to educate us why our brains have the capacity to do mathematics and to rationalize. Perhaps with the use of mathematics you can explain to us how the bread consecrated in 8th century turned into flesh and the wine into blood. You can see these flesh and blood in the Cathedral of Lanciano, Italy where they are kept. Scientists have examined these. But they cannot explain in mathematics why the five globules of coagulated blood with different mass could weigh the same in whatever combination the globules are weighed. Neither can they explain why a flesh from the 8th century can still be fresh like fresh from the market today without preservatives. For your reference please browse the net for the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. Feel free to comment once you investigated these and use your mathematical genius to explain the phenomenon. Hope to hear from you.

Hi Fr. Robert. I absolutely love this video. I'd lile to invoke Mother Angelica, the Fransiscan nun who used to run EWTN, who said that if it was a metaphor or a symbol, Jesus would not in justice have allowed the people to walk away ignorant of truth, since He himself is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life." In other words he would have been obliged to have spoken the ultimate truth to the people, which means that if it was spiritual or symbolic he would have explained it with great clarity. But he didn't!!!!! He plainly said it as it is. It's common sensical.

As a former devout Roman Catholic, I think I have heard just about every explanation of the Real Presence by sincere and learned men. But I think that they all start with the premise that this doctrine must be true, so let's see if we can find support for it in Scripture. That is a form of eisegesis. When Jesus instituted the practice of sharing bread and wine, it was at Passover. What he told the disciples was that he was replacing the Old Covenant with a new one, with himself as the perfect Paschal lamb, the perfect - and yes, "once for all" - sacrifice for the remission of sins. He told the disciples that henceforth, they would "do this in remembrance of me", no longer in remembrance of the deliverance from Egypt, but as the new Passover in his blood. There would be no more need for sacrifices to be offered daily. Instead, freedom from that slavery based on what he was about to accomplish on the cross. The Council of Trent furthered the errors of eisegesis regarding these passages in the gospels ( and the epistle to the Hebrews ) and instantiated them into Roman Catholic doctrine and practice. And so it is that we have transubstantiation, the Eucharist, and the unceasing unbloody re-sacrifice of Christ for the remission of sins, a wholly unscriptural teaching. You believe it first, then you backfill with a strained interpretation of Scripture. This, and many other totally unscriptural Roman Catholic doctrines ( purgatory, praying for the dead, indulgences, penance, apostolic succession, the preisthood ), not to mention the historical abuses of the papacy, the Inquisition, all finally forced me to leave the Church. I went reluctantly. But as my father once said to me, "I did not leave the Roman Catholic Church, the Church left me." I now follow the Reformed tradition, which, though not perfect, at least does not teach the traditions of men.

If not, what exactly is the purpose of your "dare"? *They would probably have to actively work to keep their heart closed the whole time.* And this is really the crux. Confirmation bias, and post hoc rationalizations, to continue to believe what you want to believe! If somebody actually does as you suggests, and doesn't start to believe what you do, then you have this wonderful, post hoc, rationalization that you can use. When they don't believe, it must be their fault, never mind that it's more easily explained by your unsubstantiated claims.. If, by chance, they do start to believe your confirmation bias tells you that your method works. I suspect there is simply no way to falsify your claim(s).

@quantumystery I'm afraid you're mixing things up. The miracle at Cana involved the transfiguration or elevation of one worldly nature (water) into another worldly nature (wine), a process that happens, rather more slowly, all the time, as rainwater is transformed, through a long process, into wine. Transsubstantiation is the changing of a worldly object (bread) into a non-worldly reality (the substance of Christ's body). There is, accordingly, no change at the empirical level.

Seems to me the other piece of this is: if one believes that in Jesus's real, material body the divine reality of God was fully present, how is it so unbelievable that the same can be said of bread and wine? God created the molecules and atoms of Jesus's human body just as he did those of the bread and wine. If he can make himself present in a human body, why not in bread and wine? It's not really that wild of a claim. The real issue that I think protestants have with it is the authority implied by the priesthood. Since they were so eager to reject the authority of the church, they threw the baby out with the bath water.

I don’t think you understand burden of proof. You are making an extraordinary claim that there is more to reality that what can be observed, measured, _and_ quantified. Emphasis on _and._ Things like emotion and beauty cannot be _quantified,_ but then, or their effects on human behavior, can be _observed._ Felt like I should clarify that. But, back to my original point, your claim is extraordinary. Therefore, burden of proof lies on you, the believer, and not me, the skeptic. In science, basically, any new proposition is considered incorrect until proven correct.

Best explanation of Transubstantiation that I found online. I like it how Bishop Barron, in his series of talks online, uses rudimentary occurances and philosophy in both Scripture and Tradition and anecdotal common experiences in the real world, culminating them into a better understanding of the concept he is trying to explain; and does so effectively. In the beginning, when I first started watching his videos, it was hard to focus on what Bishop Barron is talking about, sometimes I felt he was going off topic, but I realise now, his talks are well structured; which is rare in youtube platforms, he starts with the basics to explain something that is complex, to ensure the viewers are left with a better understanding and a minimal room for any misunderstanding. Almost 400 years ago my Protestant ancestors came to America armed with their Geneva Bibles. I have never taken the Eucharist, nor has anyone in our family....I have heard of some Protestant Churches partaking...I'm starting to understand why its done, but, what if you don't partake? I came back to Jesus Christ 4 months ago, not on my own accord, but by the constant nagging of something that i can't explain. I finally got Baptized in April ..Through the word, God has answered many questions and concerns that i have been praying about.....many of my questions were answered rather quickly. God just keeps blowing my mind. I have been stuck on the question of the Eucharist, what if i don't take it? I have been told before not to worry about it as its a Catholic thing and it doesn't apply to me,.........That answer is just not acceptable..Can you please help a poor Baptist out? I can't seem to be getting answers on this side......I've listened to some of your videos and i gotta say, ya sound somewhat like an evangelical and you exude the spirit, not at all what I've been told ..I see no horns or tail or sense no evil. .....Praise The Lord!!!.

My dear sister in Christ, the new testament is both fulfilling the old testament, and at the same time the old testament is prefiguring the new testament of Jesus. So in this regard the Holy Eucharist, the bread that becomes the actual body of Christ, and the wine that becomes the Real blood spilled by Christ during His crucifixion, when consecrated by the ordained priest acting in his role of Christ fits this as well. The New Passover that saves all mankind from the Eternal Death of damnation was prefigured by the Exodus Passover that saved the first born of Israel from death. That new Passover began at the Last Supper with the Real Passover Lamb, The Lamb of God that is Jesus. To be saved in the Exodus Passover the blood of the Passover lamb had to be used to mark the Israelites dwelling, but if that was all they did their first born would be dead in the morning. The rest of the Passover required that the Passover lamb be cooked and eaten to complete the saving power of the Passover. This is the prefiguring of The Holy Eucharist, Christ telling us to do this with His Body and Blood. The scripture tells us that after the 3rd Cup they sang a hymn and then Jesus went to the Garden of Olives, where He asked God The Father, 'If it be possible to let this cup pass from me, but thy will not mine be done'. ( the 1st century Jewish Passover required the drinking of 4 cups) Then on the Cross before the resurrection Jesus says, " It Is Finished ", and what He has thus finished is the New Passover, but ONLY for those who eat His Flesh and Drink His blood. Not some facsimile, but His actual Body & Blood, or " You have no life in you, for my flesh is real food, and my blood is real drink. " The Catholics are the only ones who get this right, the Protestants don't take Jesus at His word. That is why an ordained Priest anointed by the successor of the Apostles (a Bishop) must be the one to fulfill the role of Jesus in consecrating the bread and the wine. I hope this clarifies for you what is being done for you By Our Lord in The Holy Eucharist, 2000 years after He gave Himself up for Death, this is YOUR Passover saving from death.

Dear Sally -- Not to take away anything from Fr. Barron's presentation, but I am a convert to the Catholic faith after 25 years of being a very anti-Catholic Protestant. I had to answer these questions for myself and I think I do a fair job of explaining them. One of the beautiful things about the Eucharist is this....Christ is called our Divine Bridegroom and we are the Bride of Christ. This is intimate language, the language of marriage and the marriage night. In eternity, we shall be intimately united to Christ in a profound way that the language of marriage can only point to. The Eucharist is the participation in that union now, in time. Most of us don't feel it, but the most holy of saints have gone into ecstasy upon receiving the Eucharist because they could feel in a very real way the love and union we will experience forever. The Eucharist is therefore a foretaste of the eternal state and the love/union we will have with Christ forever. If you would like to chat with me about your questions, I would be happy to talk with you at edwardh317ATverizonDOTnet.

What was the reason the first Christians came together on Sunday The Lord’s Supper 17But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse. 18For, in the first place, when you come together as a church,(S) I hear that there are divisions among you. And I believe it in part,[d] 19for(T) there must be factions among you in order(U) that those who are genuine among you may be recognized. 20When you come together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat. 21For in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal. One goes hungry,(V) another gets drunk. 22What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise(W) the church of God and(X) humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I commend you in this? No, I will not. 23For(Y) I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that(Z) the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for[e] you. Do this in remembrance of me."[f] 25In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death(AA) until he comes. 27(AB) Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord(AC) in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning(AD) the body and blood of the Lord. 28(AE) Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some(AF) have died.[g] 31(AG) But if we judged[h] ourselves truly, we would not be judged. 32But when we are judged by the Lord,(AH) we are disciplined[i] so that we may not be(AI) condemned along with the world. 33So then, my brothers,[j] when you come together to eat, wait for[k] one another- 34(AJ) if anyone is hungry,(AK) let him eat at home-so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. About the other things(AL) I will give directions(AM) when I come.

Jesus established only the ONE, true and Holy and Catholic and Apostolic Church in 33AD, and it endures today 2000 years later because Jesus promised that despite the constant attacks upon His Church by satan, The Gates of Hell would not prevail against it. Now contrast that and the prayer that Jesus said to His Father that we be one, as he and the father are one, with the reality of 38,800 Protestant so-called Christian churches each with its own heresy and each claiming to be the truth of Christ.. Satan divides satan rips apart, it is God who unites. Martin Luther said that there was no heresy too comical to have someone declaring it was from God. So King Henry the Eighth started a new church so he could bed Ann Bolen, and divorce how many wives even though Jesus said there was to be no Divorce, and to marry a divorced person made you guilty of adultery. Satan sustains that King Henry the Eighth heresy even today. So no matter what you want, women priests, marrying sodomites, etc. the protestants will surely have a heresy to tell you whatever it is, it's OK. The end is near, time to return to the one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church that Jesus founded, and abandon the ones that have been invented over the last 400 -500 years with satan's approval.

To those who eagerly wait for Him He will APPEAR a second time, apart from sin, for salvation." - Heb 9:24, 28 That's when He APPEARS....

David Leone' You are missing the point. John 6:40 and Matt 24:30 are two different times, John 6:40 is in the THEN & NOW Matthew 24:30 is at Only at the END John 6:40 Speaks about the EUCHARIST / BREAD, did not Jesus say in: John 6:30-34 Below while answering the Jews. John 6: 30-33 So they said, 'What sign will you give to show us that we should believe in you? What work will you do? Our Fathers had manna to eat in the desert; as scripture says; He gave them bread from heaven to eat' JESUS CHRIST ANSWERED:! ' I tell you MOST SOLEMNLY, it was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven, it is my Father who gives you bread from heaven, the true bread; for the bread of God is that which "COMES" DOWN From heaven and gives Life to the world'. David, Notice that the Jews asked our Lord " What sign will you give us that we should believe in you? WHAT WORK WILL YOU DO? We Catholics know NOW what work that Jesus has done, it is called "Transubstantiation" AND WE BELIEVE IN HIM. David, Notice the word COMES in John 6:33 "COMES" It is (plural) NOT (singular) Meaning more than ONCE!!! jesus Christ, COMES down at every Daily Mass as in "GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD aka EUCHARIST" Amen Did not Jesus say I will not leave you alone. David, John 6:34 states that the Jews said to the Lord, "Give us ALWAY'S this BREAD!!! David, have you not prayed the Lords PRAYER? Or David did you forget that the Our Father Prayer states "Give us this day our DAILY BREAD"!!! which refers to "COMES" DOWN DAILY! Well, for those who SEE and BELIEVE Like the Father wants us to, that is. Amen David immediatley after John 6:34 what does Jesus Christ say in John 6:35 below? John 6: 35And Jesus said to them: I am the BREAD of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger: and he that believeth in me shall never thirst. David, Jesus Christ our Lord says: "COMETH TO ME" "HUNGER" and the word "THIRST" (a) "COMETH TO ME" means Just that, that WE go to HIM / EUCHARIST! Mat 24:30 Jesus COMETH TO US AT THE END OF TIME TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD. Amen (b) Jesus Christ here Speaks the word "HUNGER" Which Only the BREAD / Eucharist can Satisfy! Amen (c) Jesus Christ speaks the word "THIRST" Which Only His BLOOD can QUENCH! David, are you with the Jews in John 6:52 below??? John 6:52 Then the Jews (aka David Leone') started arguing with one another: 'HOW CAN THIS MAN GIVE US HIS FLESH TO EAT? They and David Leon" said. (What does Jesus Christ say to YOU and these Jews)? Lets read further below John 6:53 John 6:53 'I tell YOU Most SOLEMNLY, IF YOU DO NOT EAT THE FLESH OF THE SON OF MAN AND DRINK HIS BLOOD, YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOU. David, Jesus Christ is not Only Speaking to YOU and these Jews back then, He is ALSO, speaking to all Protestants in this present Day, in The NOW, WHO SEE THE EUCHARIST BUT DON'T BELIEVE. Amen What More does Scripture say about you Yall, Lets read John 6:66 below: John 6:66 After this, MANY Of His Disciples Left HIM and STOPPED Going With HIM. ( This is Exactly What is Called the Protestant Reformation re: The Most Holy EUCHARIST Which is the Body and Blood Of Our Lord THAT WE MUST, MUST EAT AND DRINK THAT HE MAY RAISE US UP ON THE LAST DAY. Amen David, is it not Ironic that the number 6:66 In John 6:66 is regarding those who do NOT BELIEVE that WE MUST eat and drinking the Lords Body and Blood??? As YOU know 666 does not only mean the mark of the main beast, it also refers to THOSE WHO DO not believe what Jesus Christ was insistent UPON, THAT IS THAT WE EAT AND DRINKING HIS BODY AND BLOOD. 666 in John 6:66 is no coincidence but a God-incidence. Amen David Leoni' You better check yourself before you reck yourself, and not follow after those Disciples who Left Jesus, because Jesus Christ will not go after you to bring you back as Jesus, did not, for those unbelieving Disciples. He only turn to His Original 12 and said in: John 6:67 BELOW John6:67 'What About you, do YOU WANT TO LEAVE ME TO? David, fact show that Jesus Christ has not gone after you, thus why you STILL believe in what you believe re: His Body and Blood / EUCHARIST. God Bless

Actually you are missing the point... it's simple. Jesus is NOT SAYING that 'the bread is in fact Him'. He is saying that, He IS THE BREAD'. Is there a difference in the two thoughts? Yes! Bread is a picture of what sustains a person in an agrarian culture, but it's temporary and you will eventually die just as the children of Israel died in the wilderness. He is saying that His Life, His gift as the Sin-Bearer and Mediator between man and God is our Greater Bread... the True Bread. That this is the True Sustenance of Life... not the ground wheat but that He came down from Heaven (as the manna, means: 'what is it?') and gives His life by His incarnation. The incarnation of Christ as a Man, is the Sustenance of Life to us. Just like the wheat is first buried and then rises from the ground, so is Christ's death and resurrection. Jesus parallels His mission to bread everywhere in the scripture. The True Bread is His Bodily Incarnation. Here is the progression. Seed sewn from above. Put into the ground in 'death'. Life springs from the ground in resurrection Life. Another analogy; bread is made by a cruel process. Buried, cut, threshed, winnowed, ground, beaten, cooked, torn, chewed, swallowed. But in that 'cruel process' an irony is there for us. Just as the temporal bread is made by a 'cruel process', so Christ as the Bread/Life of Heaven was 'made by a cruel process' literally, bodily. Jesus is the 'Staff of Life'... the true 'Bread'. To 'eat' of that 'Bread' is a deeper partaking than chewing magical bread from a theurgic process. That is paganism. Jesus is speaking from a much more profound language of what 'eating' The Bread is all about. Hebrews know of the concept of 'eating the Word of God'. That was always a 'hard saying to them'. Not because they found not 'understand' what was being said. It required the 'eater of those words to taste the bitter experience' of application... it was and is a concept we know of these days... I.E. 'Eat your words' 'eat humble pie' 'taste of his own medicine'.... Following Jesus was always a 'hard saying'.

David Leone' Exodus 12:3-8 with emphasis in verse 8, could the Hebrews/later Jews refuse or only "symbolically" eat the unleavened bread and lamb during the "forever" commanded Passover and obey GOD ??? It is a "Yes" or "No" as there is no duplicity with GOD.

THIS SAYING IS HARD WHO CAN HEAR IT??? John 6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, (Protestants) ( Atheists) hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? What are these so called disciples referring to re:: THIS IS A HARD SAYING WHO CAN HEAR IT??? Are they referring to eating and drinking our Lords Body and Blood, that we may have Life everlasting and Jesus Christ raise us up on the last day??? OF COURSE THEY ARE! What these so called disciples of the Lord WERE QUESTIONING: "THIS IS A HARD SAYING WHO CAN HEAR IT" is exactly what YOU Protestants are QUESTIONING TODAY, regarding this Video titled "On the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist" by Fr. Robert Barron. To all Protestants, Atheists, Anti-christs, etc... who have the same question to us Catholics such as "THIS IS A HARD SAYING WHO CAN HEAR IT". I TELL YOU WHO CAN HEAR IT!!!??? IT IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE REASON WHY, BECAUSE IT IS THE CHURCH JESUS CHRIST FOUNDED ON ROCK, THESE PAST 2000 YEARS AND COUNTING. AMEN John6: 66After this many of his disciples (PROTESTANTS)went back; and walked no more with him. ( BECAUSE THEY DON'T eat and drink the BODY and BLOOD of our LORD. For the first 1500 years ALL Christians ate and drank the Body of the Lord, that is until the Protestant reformation. so yeah MANY WALKED NO MORE WITH HIM, in this regard, FOR THIS ONE REASON, NOT ALL WHO SAY LORD LORD WILL SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!!! For we must, must eat and drink the Body of the Lord, have you note read Matthew 7: 21-23 below: Matthew 7: 21Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that WORK INIQUITY. Those who WORK INIQUITY are they that promote: "THIS IS A HARD SAYING WHO CAN HEAR IT? or HOW CAN THIS MAN GIVE US HIS FLESH TO EAT. Yes, YOU know who you are. P.S Protestants, please be not upset with me for adding atheists, ant-christs into your common beliefs re: "this saying is hard who can hear it" be upset and ashamed with yourselves for being in such company. God Bless

***** Tell, me why did those Jews strove among themselves, in John 6:52??? Rose, John 6:52 will give you the answer to why these Jews strove among themselves, because ROSE it is the same thing you are doing, and it is you and your protestants STORVE among yourselves. This is not a Rosegarden at all. John 6:52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Rose, there is your answer above: "How can this MAN give us HIS FLESH to EAT" Rose I am sure you see the resemblance of these Jew and you and many protestants, if not all. These Jews knew exactly what Jesus was referring to, and that is to Eat and Drink His Body and Blood, the very same reason again i can not stress it enough "Strove Among themselves. Rosegarden , John 6:60 Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? Hammy Rose, what where these Jews referring to re: THIS IS A HARD, SAYING WHO CAN HEAR IT". Rosegarden, "WHO CAN HEAR IT"??? Surely not you, YET!!! I say YET, because I know you Love Jesus Christ, but as yet you do not have the fullness of the truth. IF you truly want a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Jesus Christ wants one with YOU, then you must eat and drink His Body and Blood, Now this is a Personal Relationship with Christ, that He wants with us, i mean if you want everlasting life, if not. keep believing as you do. Rose garden, I say "keep believing as you do" because you do not only believe that we must eat and drink Our Lords Body and Blood you PROMOTE AGAINST IT!!! A DOUBLE WHAMMY. What does the number 666 mean to you??? The ANSWER is ANTI-cHRIST, an anti-christ can be anyone who does not believe in the Lord and in all of His TEACHINGS, ANDLEAVE OUR LORD. YOU WILL FIND THIS in John "6:66" John "6:66"After this many of his disciples went back; AND WALKED NO MORE WITH HIM. These Disciples became 666 anti-christs. Rosegarden, why did they become anti-christ??? you can find the answer all over John chapter 6, it is regarding EATING AND DRINKING HIS BODY AND BLOOD, "HOW CAN HE GIVE US HIS FLEASH TO EAT" - "THIS IS A HARD, SAYING HWO CAN HEAR IT". Rosegarden, do YOU really want to be in their COMPANY??? Regarding, John 6:66, the 666 in John 6:66 it is not a coincidence, the poor is in their WALKING AWAY FROM JESUS. I tell you who can hear it, it is the CATHOLIC CHURCH and little me and my family. AMEN

***** tell me how can the truth be insulting??? You call your self Catholic and yet do not believe we MUST eat and drink the Lords body, now that is insulting, insulting to the Lord. Rosegarden, it goes further back than the 1st century, it goes back to Judas the betrayer and look he obvious believed not in the teaching of Jesus Christ re: that we must eat and drink His Body and Blood, because if he did, he would not have hung himself. Rosegarden, RE: 666 IN JOHN 6:66 is referring to to those who do not accept the Lord Teachings that we must eat and drink His Body and Blood. John 6:66 After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him. Rose, however if you do not accept that we must eat and drink his body, you are not Catholic. and for anyone whether they be a priest or bishop and do not accept that we must eat and drink the Lords body and Blood are not Catholics. No, Jesus Christ did not insult no one, However, Jesus never went after those Jews who left Him, for not believing that we must eat and drink his Body and Blood. Perhaps Jesus Christ may not go after you either for not believing that we must eat and drink His Body and Blood, but then again, maybe He is, through me. Rosegarden, you are not seeking truth, you are promoting that we should not eat and drink the Lords body and blood. If you truly loved the Lord then you won't go against His Teaching that we must eat and drink his Body and Blood. Why should I fear 666??? I don't fear 666!!! Rose, I tell you who Fear, I FEAR Jesus Christ who can condemn me, for not eating and drinking His Body and Blood. John 6:53 Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. Ant-chirst is someone yes who does not believe in Jesus, But an ant-christ also teaches agains't and promotes lies like you have been doing, re: eating and drinking the Lords Body and Blood. In your case you are Lukewarm, now what does Jesus Christ teach about those who are lukewarm??? Revelations 3:15-16 @3I know thy works, that thou art neither cold, nor hot. I would thou wert cold, or hot. @3But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth. Rose, your work is you believe in Christ, but yet do not believe in Eating and Drinking the Lords Body and Blood, therefore as per Revelations 3:16 above The Lord will spew you out of his mouth. And please do not say I am insulting you, I am not, I am just quoting you Scripture for those who are lukewarm, and not accepting Eating and Drinking the Lords Body and Blood, is a lukewarm person. Please wrong the Jews left because they could not accept His Teachings, Like YOU Re: you must Eat and Drink the Lords Body and Blood. Yes, no one can come to Jesus in the Eucharist, unless it is GRANTED by the Father. Rose Pray that the Father, grants you to come to Jesus Christ in the Most Holy EUCHARIST. AN then be truly a Catholic. AMEN Rose, False False False Lies of satan your Father, If Jesus Christ was speaking symbolically He would of told the Jews who Left, Come back, I was only speaking symbolically, but the TRUTH is Jesus Christ did not, because He was not speaking symbolically. Rose, true Jesus DID not loose those who the Father gave Him, but he lost YOU, or perhaps he never had you. because how you promote Lies. We should look at the letter of the Law when it comes to the Eucharist, because what part of "Truly Truly I say to you" that YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND??? St. Paul, knows that we must literally Eat and Drink the Lords Body and Blood. 1 Corinthians 11: @1Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 11:27 proves you wrong because why would anyone be guilty??? This shows YOU that the Lord Was Speaking LITERALLY!!!

What is Jesus's very first miracle? It's "transubstantiation" turning water into wine. Read the "hard" teaching in John 6:54. Does Jesus provide any "proof" or "evidence" He means what He says? Read 6:62 in context as Jesus provides the "proof" that will get all to believe in His "hard" teaching. Lastly, if you doubt GOD can transubstantiate the host during the priestly consecration, then wouldn't you have to be consistent and logically doubt all other miracles in the bible too? Come to believe in His real presence.

Hebrews 7:27 declares, "Unlike the other high priests, He (Jesus) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people.

Yes, of course He died "once" and for all for the forgiveness of sins. However, I would like to remind you in the old covenant throughout Leviticus law what did Jews NEED to have intervene for them for the forgiveness of their sins? Throughout Leviticus you will see the repeated statement "Thus the priest shall make atonement for the man's sin, and it will be forgiven". Fast forward to the fulfillment in the New Testament. What does Jesus do besides forgiving sins Himself? He gives His power to His disciples (Matthew 28:19-20) to "baptize" and they "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’" (John 20:21-23). "Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" (Matt. 18:18). "All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION" (2 Cor. 5:18). Indeed, confirms Paul, "So we are AMBASSADORS for Christ" (2 Cor. 5:20). If Jesus fully intended it to be the way you are describing, then why would He give His authority to the Apostles? Regarding your symbolism comment, watch Dr. Brandt Pitre "Jewish Roots for the Eucharist" video. This talk will open your eyes to the truth and meaning to what Jesus did in that upper room while instituting the New Covenant. God's blessings.

One True Faith the old covenant required the "daily" and Yom Kippur - The New Covenant, which nicholas diaz quoted from Hebrews (which is a quote from Jeremiah) states that the sacrificial system is over - Christ is our atoning sacrifice, died once and for all, never to be repeated, and we now have atonement so we can "boldly enter the Throne of Grace" for forgiveness - NOT BY SACRIFICING JESUS OVER AND OVER AGAIN - that is pagan and unbiblical.
@onetruefaith5750
@onetruefaith5750 9 жыл бұрын
Greg Cox What is pagan and unbiblical is your 1850's "woman made" church who celebrates the "Harlot Sabbath" that GOD clearly said He would "END" in Hosea 2:11. I digress. You do not understand the Passover do you??? It was originally a "Memorial Feast" to remember what GOD had done for the Hebrews/later Jews. Jews believed when they celebrated the Passover they were back in time "at the original Passover event" and would state the Sader Meal in the present tense as if they were there. Our "rememberance" Feast of the NEW COVENANT PASSOVER (Luke 22:19-20) is no different. We celebrate what Jesus has done for us ONCE setting us free from sin and bondage. We celebrate and participate in that ONE SACRIFICE. As the priest is speaking Jesus Christ's exact words we believe we are there and "THE WORD BECAME FLESH" is there in the Holy Eucharist. Speaking of that you know what amazes me. You Protestant can believe in an ALL POWERFUL invisible GOD who made this complex world, created you and me, flooded the whole world again during Noah's time, parted waters, performed miracles and resurrections of dead people, showed up as a cloud, burning bush, watering rock and tongues of fire. BUT, SOMEHOW YOUR FAITH RUNS DRY WHEN THE "LAMB OF GOD" TELLS YOU IN EVERY GOSPEL WHAT THE "BREAD" BECOMES !!! Tell me, does that make any consistent or logical sense???

One True Faith YOU SCRIBBLED: "What is pagan and unbiblical is your 1850's "woman made" church who celebrates the "Harlot Sabbath" that GOD clearly said He would "END" in Hosea 2:11. I digress." YOU DIDN'T DIGRESS, YOU DEVOLVED INTO HISTORICAL IGNORANCE (AT BEST). HISTORY NEWS FLASH HOMIE - HOSEA 2 WAS A WARNING TO THE HEBREWS THAT THEIR WORSHIP WOULD END DUE TO DISOBEDIENCE, IDOLATRY, AND BREAKING THE SABBATH WHICH CAME BEFORE THE BABYLONIAN CAPTIVITY. DU'H! - AND APPARENTLY YOU NEVER READ OR EVEN HEARD OF THE PROPHET NEHEMIAH WHO STATED THOSE VERY SABBATHS WHICH YOU CRAP ALL OVER WERE TO BE RESTORED AFTER THE CAPTIVITY. BUT YOU DIGRESSSSSS....YEAHHH...RIGHT. HISTORY WAS NEVER A STRONG SUIT OF THE RCC - AFTER ALL, YOU GOTTA TRY TO HIDE THE BONES OF ALL THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THE RCC KILLED, RIGHT? APPARENTLY YOU ARE IMMUNE TO TRUTH - KEEP ON GUZZLING THAT JOHNSTOWN COMMUNION KOOLAIDE - YOUR'E DOING GREAT! YOU: Our "rememberance" Feast of the NEW COVENANT PASSOVER (Luke 22:19-20) is no different." FLATLY FALSE - YOU KILL CHRIST OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN A PAGAN CEREMONY CALLED TRANSUBSTANTIATION. GROSS. AND CHRIST IS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT - NOT YOUR CHILD MOLESTING PRIESTS, AND WE ARE THE MINISTERS OF THE NEW COVENANT - NOT YOUR DRESS WEARING PEDOPHILES. SIMPLY CLAIMING THAT IT'S THE NEW COVENANT DOES VOID SCRIPTURE - WHICH YOU'VE DESPERATELY TRIED TO OBFUSCATE. SCRIPTURE EXPOSES YOU INSTEAD. I PRAY TO COME TO YOUR SENSES. YOU: "BUT, SOMEHOW YOUR FAITH RUNS DRY WHEN THE "LAMB OF GOD" TELLS YOU IN EVERY GOSPEL WHAT THE "BREAD" BECOMES !!! Tell me, does that make any consistent or logical sense???" YEAH, SURE - WORSHIPPING IDOLS, SACRIFICING THE SAVIOR OVER AND OVER THEN EATING HIS LITERAL BLOOD AND FLESH, MAKING IMAGES OF DEATH, CHANGING THE LAW OF GOD - CANDY-COAT AND CALL IT "FAITH" ALL YOU WANT, IT HOWEVER IS SATANIC AND FALSE.

Bishop Barron, i am so glad for this angle you brought in about the OT prohibition to eat not meat with blood in it (Leviticus 17). Even the apostles were influenced by it when making their final decision at the council of Jerusalem (Acts 15). With this background, anyone can appreciate why many of the Jews felt offended by Jesus "uncivilized" words and so abandoned him at the end of John 6 exposé.

Yesterday I was challenged by an Evangelical street preacher because I told him I was a practising Catholic again, having been a cradle Catholic, and then joining the Evangelicals, but now I have returned by the grace of God. I go to the Latin Mass every Sunday ad Holy Communion is the highlight of my week. It is absolutely wonderful, thank you Jesus. The street preacher tried everything to change my heart but I lovingly and laughingly told him that in no way would that ever happen again. I praised God and told him how wonderful it was to see him preaching Jesus in the wet and windy street but he could not respond to my happiness and love. I think that's interesting. So I pray for him. Sadly, he said that he couldn't accept that I believed that I was eating the body of Jesus and drinking his blood at Mass. He pulled a face and said that what I believed amounted to cannibalism! All I could think to say was, he didn't understand. If I had had Bishop Barron's words how wonderful it would have been but now I know what to say should that ever happen again. Maybe I'll seek him out. He may be there again next week.

It is a gift so great that no human words can adequately describe it, as the "Tantum Ergo" so beautifully confesses. Therefore it is an exercise of faith, moving beyond science and materialism, to accept the truth of this reality. When confronted with this question, I asked myself "which is the more radical expression of Jesus' love - a symbol, or His Real Presence?" The answer comes in considering the most important event in history, on which everything else depends, the Incarnation.
