@@docholliday6285 Diesel can be harder to find out in the wilds. The LGZ V6 gets very good mileage off road and 87 octane is easy to find. The extra weight of the diesel (200lbs+), dealing with DEF, and lack of power turned me off. The gas 8 speed gives you much better crawl ratios, 7-1 vs 6-1.

You know I get it people see 48k and think "oh god 50k for a midsize" even though you never pay msrp on these things and usually get 10k off at least if you don't just go in willing to overpay. The only trucks that are actual ripoffs are the raptors you actually have to pay 62-65 discounted only like 4 grand at most for one that equipped with the interior like a lariat. I mean don't get me wrong I think all vehicles are increasing in price so rapidly it's insane, but I find it funny people always bring up the argument "for that money just get a raptor" when the raptor is the worst one as far as price gouging you is concerned.

Notice that AEV did not address the rear shock mounts, I wonder if Chevy told them not to, i.e. admission of design failure/guilt. Also, without looking fully at the design, that diff guard seems kinda iffy to me. Hit that thing dead on, the potential of bending it up and interfering with the driveline appears high.

I am impressed :O GM puts its money where its mouth is and lets reviewers test and scrape up the wheels a bit. THIS is how you sell your tough stuff. You show potential buyers what it can do. I only wish this shock mounts were closer to the wheels. Being mid-axle like that just means more places to scrap and drag. Going to buy up soon from my KL Trailhawk (which frankly has been awesome but that RDM is fragile, even as it is highly capable). I love how all they did was give you a new set of bumpers that actually HURTS your off-road capabilities, charge you for said shitty bumpers. And then they wanna try and sell shit that’s ACTUALLY useful?? Why tf not just make the truck with all those things included? People are just gonna buy the regular ZR2 and modify it for wayyy cheaper

Crazy expensive. You can get a full-sized 2020 Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss for $43,865 according to Andre's other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmWlg59udr19lbs. Comes with 6.2L V8 420hp/460 torque with 10-spd transmission and will tow 13,400 in a double cab 4x4! We'll see, sounds too good to be true. Configurator and trucks coming ~Aug 2019.

What I always find i teresting to see is that the shock mounts on the rear stick out more than the diff. If you hit that on a rock your stranded.

I find it interesting that AEV didn't address that, almost like Chevy told them not to, as it seems like a design flaw. That said, there may not be any other options to get the travel and be further outboard. Definitely an Achilles heel.

It's like so many people comment on this issue but there hasn't been any "real" issue, there is aftermarket skids that help but they are about as much as an issue as the the jeep jk rear shock positions which a lot of ppl complain about, but only in the most hard core scenario or the craziest line will it ever be an issue.
@dedalliance1
@dedalliance1 5 жыл бұрын
That's why you have spotters to help you position your tires, you wouldn't pick a line to travel that has a huge rock that's going to rip it off, that's why you run the rock over with the tire to lift the shocks over it.

These shock mounts are from the 2500hd. They can take a pounding. Are there any real cases of someone being stranded because of this? I haven't seen any but there might be some, somewhere. People have been off-road alot in these trucks as well.

I like it, but for $5K over the cost of a ZR2 I'd really expect more. Still can't throw on 35" wheels without a bunch of work. The additional skid plates and bumpers are nice but they can already be sourced more cheaply for the aftermarket. Basically, that Bison did nothing a ZR2 isnt already capable of while leaving you with $5K still in your pockect.
