f you want a day "chilling" with Metallica try S&M (Live concert here on YT) Years later they did and 2nd version also. Just you and you headphones or speaker system and enjoy. If you haven't already? You would love it 100% guarantee👍 It brings a whole new depth to Metallica and there songs and it fits very nice without loosing anything. Of course purist will never agree on this, but if you like musical performance it is a must to hear it at least once. Peace

Blackened is one of my favoutite songs and a wonderful opening song. I remember one concert when Blackened was the opener followed by battery. They played both songs without a break, it was awesome and exhausting.

This is from the 2009 DVD Français pour une nuit = French for one night. It was filmed in the amphitheater in Nîmes. The Völkerball concert from Rammstein was also filmed there.

Amazing. Love this live. I've seen them live 5 times and they are the best artist I've ever seen live. They always sound amazing and never too distorted, they have amazing crowd control, sweet ad libs and have the endurance for very long shows.

back in 2004, they opened up the show with Blackened and throughout the song something hadn't occurred to me, but everything was brightly lit with these bare light bulbs. It did that throughout the entire song until the last hit when flashbangs went off and then the lighting rig began descending from the top of the arena...it was like OKAY NOW THE SHOW CAN REALLY BEGIN! ugh!!! it was so magical!!!!

I couldn't tell you how many batteries, I'd go through in my Sony Walkman, listening to this album cassette over and over, my first year in High School. "And Justice For All" is MY favorite Metallica album, with "Master of Puppets", "Kill 'em All", and "Ride the Lightning" coming in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.. in the order. Loved this reaction, Biss. Such a cool venue to play in! I have seen Metallica live many times, but only in your typical stadiums/arenas. Nonetheless, they are masters of the stage. True musicians that know how to play the heck out of their instruments. Blackened has pretty poignant lyrics and a blatantly stark message - but is such a great song overall. Great reaction btw!

The song at the start "Ectasy of Gold" is from the movie "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" staring Clint Eastwood......you should check that out on your other channel.......actually the entire "Man With No Name" trilogy of movies is worth a watch. Metallica has been opening their shows with that song since the 80's If you want some different Metallica you should give "Until it Sleeps" a listen/watch.......recommend the video version though.....that was the start of the whole "OMG they cut their hair" BS

That such concerts would once take place in an ancient building (in Nîmes, the colonia Nemausus in the province of Gallia Narbonensis of the Roman Empire, the amphitheater was built between 90 and 120 AD based on the model of the Roman Colosseum) - well, somehow logically, because even in antiquity it was infotainment construction - of course much bloodier than today. Do bullfights still take place in Nimes today?

Then old rock, and some of the best is from Heart, who you have reacted to already, but IMO their best song in an exceptionally good version (most other versions don't actually even make the song sound so good...) is: "Heart - Magic Man (1976)" from the channel Warmer Music Videos (yes, Warmer music instead of Warner music...). Just listen to that soulfulness, that expression, that incredibly skilful use of her voice, how she even changes her expression of what she's saying as she's telling a story... Or you can use the version they performed at their live gig called "Second Ending" which is a concert you MUST SEE in its entirety!! Despite the sound recording having been done by college students with whatever they could afford in 1976, it's so well recorded and preserved! And then just to throw it out there, the most beautiful song in the world is: Miserere, or Miserere Mei, Deus (it used to only be allowed to be played in the Vatican, in the Sistine Chapel. It was kept secret but Mozart heard it and then wrote it down by memory, and after hearing it a few times he got it perfect and the secret was no more! The Vatican didn't mind, and then it started to be performed all over the world). One of the best versions is on the channel called: Tenebrae Choir and the name of the video is: Miserere mei, Deus - Allegri - Tenebrae conducted by Nigel Short

As incredible as it must feel to play to a stadium I wonder if bands sometimes miss the intense energy of playing in a club to a few hundred people. Where the crowd is right at your feet and you can smell the beer from the bar.
