You guys have a really cool bond. And don't worry, it's part of the metal music evolution you go through when not accustomed to the genre. Some songs are a little too much, too fast, too crazy, and you turn away from it a bit, and disconnect some. The more you explore, though, the more you understand and appreciate what is going on musically. Some day you'll be looking back at this song, saying to yourself:" Damn, I can't believe there was a time I didn't really like this song"

just wanted to give you guys a real taste of how talented these guys are when it comes to there music. check out there instrumentals particularly the song Orion. it is by far one of the greatest songs they put out. it was one of the songs that was written by the original bassist Cliff Burton who died years ago during a bus crash while they were on tour. they started playing the song recently again because the song was very complicated for the bass player till they got the current bassist and they were able to play it again in tribute to Cliff.

@primary2630
@primary2630 Жыл бұрын
@@jeffspalding5368 I think that's unfair. It was the whole band who did it. IMO And Justice For All is perfect as it is and whether or not it was an insult to Jason on bass is irrelevant imo because the way they mastered the album is the way that brought it to fame. The bass is an underrated position in general because it is often at its best being subtle in an ensemble like this, but this is the way it was and it created an absolutely amazing album start to finish.

Metallica's 4th album came in 1988 after the death of their bassist Cliff Burton in 1986... the band was involved in the tour bus accident. The loss of his friend re-traumatized James Hetfield, who already had a rough upbringing - his father left, his mom died from cancer while he was a teen... and when they worked on the lyrics and music for this album w/ bassist Jason Newsted joining the band, he delivered some of the heaviest riffs of his life. And all his lyrics were just raging at everything... the whole album, "EVERYTHING EFFIN SUCKS!" "Blackened" - our world is eff'd... "And justice for all" - our legal system is BS!... "Eye of the beholder" - "our 'freedom' is an effin joke!"... 'One' - war has eff'd me up... and on and on... One of the best record ever put on tape (even w/ the bass faded out) 🤘🤘🔥🔥

It is unfortunate that hard rock and metal get such a bad reputation from some. It's loud, people don't like THAT and therefore the lyrics must be evil. That seems to be the assumption. You thought this was "School shooter music"? I understand your thought but it's the media and general public who have the misconception that Metal is Evil. How many Rap songs talk about guns and killing? and that's played on the radio and in the charts. Metal is mostly meaningful and is rarely in the charts. Marilyn Manson is usually brought up.........Here are some lyrics from his song Coma White.. There's something cold and blank, behind her smile She's standing on an overpass, in a miracle mile Cause you were from a perfect world, a world that threw me away...... A pill to make you numb A pill to make you dumb A pill to make you anybody else All the drugs in this world Won't save her from herself This can be applied to 90% of Hollywood and Hollywood hopefuls

19:40: SMH..... They missed one of the best transitions in the song (happens A LOT with these guys unfortunately). Don't get me wrong, I like these guys channel.... I just wish there was A BIT less fkn around and more STAYING FOCUSED. There are certain parts of songs (that those of us who have been fans since the beginning LOOK FOR PEOPLE'S REACTIONS TO), knowing they're coming (and remembering how WE reacted when first hearing them), just to be let down when that time comes because the "reactors" decide AT THAT VERY MOMENT to "lose focus" and miss it entirely! I don't know, maybe I'm nit picking here.... its just a pet peeve of mine is all. I will say, WHEN THEY ARE FOCUSED AND ON POINT, they do a great job!

This is Metallica's first album after Cliff Burton's death. Cliff burton was the master of the harmonic changes. They realized the could not produce the great material they could with Cliff. Hence the black album. "Of Wolf and Man". Metallica's best after Cliff.

As much as I love Metallica, I've never been blown away by Lars' drumming following this album. ...And Justice for All probably has my favorite rhythms of his before the decline of his technique.

I love the music on this album but I never liked the production. I’m not an expert or anything but it sounds too “tinny.” I know nothing about music production but I can clearly here a difference in this than in the first 3 albums. And I’ve heard of a lot of people having the same opinion. I still like it tho because it’s the same style

It is cool that you are getting a taste of the music I was jamming to in my day. I also listened to the hell out of RUN DMC Raising Hell. The metal bands were angry at the same system Rap bands are pissed at. React to Megadeth Rust in piece Hanger 18 or Polaris, the actual name of the nukes we have. Polaris. Music brings us together on common music ground. Love This guy's!!!!!!!!

Great reaction! If you want more songs with great messages from similar rock bands I’d suggest “The Shortest Straw” by Metallica based on the book “Naming Names”; “Peace Sells…but Who’s Buying” by Megadeth; “Indians” by Anthrax; “House of Suffering” by Bad Brains; “Pride” by Living Colour; “Driven To Tears” by The Police and “Subdivisions” by Rush!!

Now, if you want to hear some real MUSIC, I would strongly suggest you check out "Orion" by Metallica. It's an instrumental, but it's got it all - a slow and heavy part, a faster/thrashy part, a slow melodic part, and 4(!!!) guitar solos including a bass one, and all of it is done in merely 8,5 minutes. A literal masterpiece.
