Yes the best is RUSH, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, and Scorpions. Try "Yellow Raven" and "We Burn the Sky" for Scorpions if you love the sound of this one. He is saying "give me another chance" because he knows he will forever be loving her regardless so that is the longing. He is saying "this could be the end" with him merely left "STILL LOVING YOU." "We Burn the Sky" is a girl the band knew in high school where none of them dated or had sex with her, but she loved their wild music and then committed suicide and so they are saying he knows "when it's time to die; we'll burn the sky" in the sense he will perform all of his success for her to hear everything they had become since she had left Earth and that she would be with them again as their friend of the band along for the ride in the sky.

One of the few bands that play their live version EXACTLY like the studio version. The vocals and guitar parts are perfect. I started playing hair metal guitar in 1985. I was 15. The Scorpions were huge on my list of songs to learn. I've seen them live several times. The hair band ballad always started soft and picked up and ended like it started.

Unfortunately, this isn't a live performance. They're lip syncing, or perhaps the person who edited the video just placed the recorded version over a video of a live performance. In any case, what you're hearing is the album version of this song.

Let's see next could be "the Zoo", "Rock You Like a Hurricane", "Winds of Change" to start. It's great seeing a younger generation get into music that was a part of my younger days, these guys hit when I was in my twenties, most of the music I grew up with came out if the sixties and seventies. My kids, who are 34 & 30, grew up listening to this because my stereo was way louder than theirs. 😁

LOL - that sounds exactly like my house, and we must be about the same age (I'm prolly a bit older because I had my first kid when I was 40, and he's the same age as your oldest). Deep Purple, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden... were very instrumental in developing my love/taste for music. I branched out into prog with King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Rush - and was in heaven when I first heard Dream Theater. I still tease my 2 oldest sons for yelling 'turn that off!" in the car when I tried to turn them on to Rising Force and Joe Satriani. Good memories. 😄

I remember like yesterday, it was in 1987, we were in the industrial highschool No. 27 in Bucharest in the practice week. The whole class in the workshop, but ifor the moment, no work to do :). A day off, let's say. We were a bunch o rockers there (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath fans) and we brought a audio tape with Killers In Tour, a Scorpions concert...Always Somewhere, When the Smoke is Going Down, Holiday, plus other of their ballads, this one included. One better than the other. We continously invited our colleague girls to dance...couldn't imagine a better party.
