Because the one that has the insane voice doesn't sing much in English. He is German and most of his songs are in German. The Giant Rooks do sing a number of songs in English though.

I came across this about 2 weeks ago AND IM OBSESSED! I HIGHLY recommend the AMK + Natalie Findley cover of 'Valerie'. 'Roxanne' cover by AMK + Milky...something and 'Can't get you out of my head' cover. So freaking great!!!!

It's Milky Chance, they were(/are?) quite successful internationally actually. Just look at KZbin for their most successful songs a few years back. Maybe it rings a bell... Aaaaanyhow! "Can't get you out of my head" with Parcels is by far my favourite of their covers.

He still was a street musician back then! :) I always like (and loved) his voice and singing! You can't go wrong with AnnenMayKantereit! AnneMayKantereit are amazing, they have so many great songs like Barfuss am Klavir or Pocahontas. Henning May (the lead singer) had some features e.g. Juju - Vermissen or KIZ - Hurra die Welt geht unter. Maybe your German is well enough to understand the lyrics without translation =) Anyway as always thank you for the great reaction =)

Henning May's voice is amazing. Been following AMK since they covered Roxanne with Milky Chance. Favorite song by them is "Barfuß am Klavier" Another artist with a yummy low voice worth checking out is Colm McGuinness, "Touch the Sky (Brave cover)"

What I find interesting is most people are stunned by Henning May's voice, the second singer, and miss how both singers sing each note. Frederik Rabe of Giant Rooks is the first singer, he is nothing to sneeze at either.

The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987). This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well.
