Great Video Bill looking forward to follow up . My misses would kill me if I cleaned my Kirbys in the bath though 😂

If you ever want a free vacuum, go out and find a trash pick and clean it up and presto you got a vacuum 🙋♂️🙋♂️

The best way.

I actually used to do that. Wish I had all the ones I found.

Since 2014, I have been picking dozens of vacuums out of the dumpsters or by the dumpsters of our huge apartment complex. Most of them I have been able to salvage just by cleaning them up and doing minor repairs. Right now I have two of those model 2191s that I found just in the last week, including one just today.

How do fix a broken rear wheel? Any help would be appreciated Thanks for the great videos
@VacLab Жыл бұрын
Replace the wheel. But it's probably not worth the effort.

I have one of these that is a peach/pink color trim. I haven't seen many like it. I wonder if it was an early version of this style Bissell.

Another great find! People really abuse their vacuums, but you come and save them. That's great way of getting good working vacuum for free :)

I’m gonna imagine the handle having no screws they thought it was broken and got tired of messing with the handle and threw it away.

That might be a possibility.

Hello. I have this same vacuum. The other day I turned it on and it came on for a second, shut off and ive not been able to get it to turn on again. Of course, I checked different outlets and all the other obvious OUTSIDE possibilities so its definitely the vacuum. Does my issue sound like it may be a blown motor? I was hoping there was a re-set switch in there somewhere but it doesnt like like thats the case.
@VacLab Жыл бұрын
Sounds like bad wiring and/or bad motor.

@@VacLab Oh ok. thanks much. I thought so. I did run my fingers over the cord. Its smooth with no gashed or anything so ill bet its the motor

Out of dozens of trash picks over the last nine years, I have never had one with a motor that doesn’t run. I had one 28 year old Rainbow that had a bearing noise on the main motor, and a few that may have been a little “screechy”, but that’s it. I would check the power switch first.

Something to be said for ultra cheap plastic vacuums. As long as the motor is OK, the rest of it can be cleaned back to near-new. A metal vacuum with that much wet mud in it would've rusted bad.
@VacLab6 ай бұрын
Not really. Aluminum doesn't rust over a few days or even months when covered in "mud". Steel can though.

How do I fix the rubber around the canister
@VacLab9 ай бұрын
Replace the assembly, but it might not be worth the trouble.

For a Trash picked Vacuum, i'm shocked how clean inside the Container was when you open it
