Not official vaults, but known vaults, it's a plot loophole that will allow them to add more vaults if they need to, especially if they ever scale the world up to a national or global level in the future as games can be made larger than was possible when the game lore was created.

Ghoulification occurs when someone is introduced to a large amount of radiation. Some people survive and turn into ghouls. Some pass from radiation sickness. Some get "lucky" and survive.

If he tells the brotherhood, then the mission is over. They’re not gonna let him use the suit. And he’ll be sent back to base, getting beat up again, assuming he’s not just executed for failing his Knight. Also the new Squire he’s bullying was one of the main guys who was beating him in Episode 1. Also he can’t move the armor because it was broken in Episode 2. Easy details to miss, but Maximus is not that stupid.

I view Lucy as a new naive player. Maximus is a player who maximized strength, Endurance, and Luck (prob aiming for idiot savant perk). Perfect for BoS playthrough lol. Ghoul is someone who went for perception and Agility, perfect for VATS.

Maximus is not stupid, he is still learning. In addition, everyone criticizes that he leaves the suit behind. What else is he supposed to do? Pick it up and carry it? It doesn't repair itself. Maximus may be naïve, but he is not stupid. A different naivety than Lucy, but naïve. Both of them only know the world from the perspective of how they have experienced it so far, and this world is very limited and what they experience and learn has been controlled. This world is just beginning to expand for both of them. And the way they get by and cope with new situations is not a sign of stupidity. Lucy doesn't create trouble either, she gets thrown into it and only reacts to it so far. She's doing pretty well according to the circumstances and despite how she's been raised.

Take the fusion core out would've been a start? think that scene was a nod to fo4 settlers stealing your power armour if you leave a fusion core in it when the settlement gets attacked.

@@yedead1 The start was already given with the non-functioning component. The suit doesn't go anywhere, and neither does the fusion core, because you need the right tools for that.

@@TomTomson81 It's borderline retarded to argue about how smart or dumb a scripted character is. The writing in this show is bad if they don't want Max to come off as stupid. They didn't have him hide the armor at all, and he left the fusion core in. And no, it does not take tools to remove a fusion core. Here's a list of ways the Max character is written to be retarded: He left his tools and guns behind when taking the armor. He didn't hide the armor at all, literally left it in the most visible spot possible without any attempt to conceal it. He has a pistol but engaged in a fist fight. After having seen the show it's pretty obvious that the writers themselves are not that intelligent or they could have come up with better scenes that make more sense logistically than the way this show plays out. It's like there was no one in the writer's room that said, "But why wouldn't they just do X? Isn't that easier?" Like the whole injecting the thing in his own neck, then having her cut his head off. It doesn't make sense. Not entirely sure what he intended to do with that injection, but he'd have to take it out to use it, so what was his plan for that and why didn't he just have Lucy do that instead of taking his whole head? Pretty much every plot point in this show is that way.

Nope. He's stupid. What person in their right mind would tell someone who bullied you that you'd just done something that could really get you into trouble? He'd know that he couldn't trust the guy to keep quiet. You can't tell me that he lived so much of his life in that camp and never once had anyone there betray his trust. He'd have learned really quickly that you don't trust everyone you're around because some will take advantage of that trust to cause you problems. Especially those who pick on you. Even the most naive person would have figured that out living in a camp like that. Just having him say he'll be loyal to you alone doesn't mean he'll be loyal. Remember the oaths they take? Both the Brotherhood and the mission are above loyalty to the knight, especially since he wasn't an actual knight. So there'd be no reason to believe that he wouldn't tell the Brotherhood about what you'd done, while making it hard for you to get away until they brought back ones to get you. Lucy, yes. She's naive and that's the fault of the vault's leadership, not her's. Him? Naivety doesn't explain his stupidity. His intelligence stat is definitely low.

There are 122 vaults i think. Each with it's own freaky social experiment. They are far from being just a shelter for a nuclear fallout. You should look it up about them, they are a very interessing part of the games lore.

dogmeat - the dog has no master, he is his own master, he helps wastlanders when it suits him, if he wants he will travel with a person for a while but then set off on his own. hes a wild spirit is dog meat

A guide to getting into Fallout. - Recommend starting with FO3 as it will ease you into the lore and RPG elements of Fallout series. - Next would be Fallout New Vegas (Deeper faction lore and dynamics. considered by many the best) - Then Fallout 4 which has modern features - voiced protagonist, can build things, etc.. - Fallout 1 and 2 are CRPG's with the isometric view (good games but some dated mechanics) - Fallout 76 ~ Online live service game if it fits your boat, but not essential. OR Fallout Shelter - Mobile F2P If you just want to play casually. No actual story but fair bit of lore references.

Basically, the experiment put rats/mice in a caged area giving unlimited food and water. Because it was protected from predators it was thought of as a utopia for the rats/mice. Overpopulation soon happened and an animal version of societal collapse with behaviors changing dramatically from the start happened. When the general public heard about the experiment, an author made a popular children's book which then became the popular kid movie, "The Secret of NIMH" about some of the rats escaping and becoming smart.

I'm enjoying this series. While I've only played Fallout 2, I've watch others enough in Fallout 4 to get the gist of the game, and this series definitely captures a lot of the feel of 4 while still adding its own elements to make a story worth watching. I hope you keep watching, and maybe get interested enough to play FO4 at least.

Maximus may not be terribly bright, but he knows a cult when he sees one. The fact that he knows that he's in one is evidenced by the final answer he gave the cleric, resulting in his being made a squire. He has street smarts that should serve him well, if he can learn to think on his feet a little better.

Yes! He IS supposed to be dumb because in the game "intelligence" is one of the stats you can choose to level up or not when you create your character so you can choose to create a strong character but with really dumb dialogues and interactions. I maybe he also have a lot of stats on "luck".

You're not a Bathesda fan? That's fine. Fallout wasn't created by Bethesda and in my (not so) humble opinion, Bethesda Fallout is the inferior kind of Fallout. Fallout (the original one) was released in 1997 by Interplay and in 2004 Bethesda started working on Fallout 3 after purchasing the rights from Interplay. The first two Fallout games are classic CRPGs with isometric view. Fallout 3 is Elder Scrolls with guns (and, as such I can't recommend it...). Classic Fallout plays very differently from modern Fallout. I mean, I still don't know if you like classic CRPGs, but Fallout 1, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics are not Bethesda games and don't have the first-person open-world gameplay you probably associate with Bethesda games.

None of that is relevant to my point that Bethesda didn't create the Fallout universe and that the first couple of Fallout games don't play like the current Bethesda games, so how you feel about playing Bethesda games is tangential to whether or not you would like Fallout 1 or 2.
