Just so people who dont know much about bitcoin know: this guy didnt actually create bitcoin (and if you watch the video you'll see he doesn't make that claim). Amir is not Satoshi Nakamoto. Interesting video, but misleading title.

If bitcoin is peer to peer software. I am taking everyone's coins :) Bitcoins software is licensed by MIT; it is not open source code and decentralized.

Look up what the "MIT license" is. It doesn't mean "licensed by MIT"

Thomas, you are correct. MIT holds the license for "the software". I do need to be more precise in the future. Well now we know who controls the software; I hope the license issuer doesn't decide to change any parameters of the software. I have been unable to find the authority which authorized MIT to hold this license. Any help would be appreciated. I am diligently trying to find out who is controlling bitcoin. Not an easy task given the creator of bitcoin is unknown.

mrdave2112 no, you are totally wrong. The MIT license is just a type of open source license. It DOES NOT mean that you are licensing it from MIT

mrdave2112 no one "controls bitcoin" it's an open protocol. The creator has no special power to control the system.

Thomas, I am really trying to understand this. The very essence (definition) of a license is formal permission to do something. An authority issues a license giving permission to drive a motor vehicle, the government. Perhaps I am missing something. If no one is controlling bitcoin, what authority issued this license to MIT? Answer that question and we will know who controls bitcoin. The purpose of issuing licenses is to exert control; formal permission to do something. Again, any help would be appreciated.

I first met Amir 4 years ago at Hackspace London where he told me of this project he was working on called Bitcoin. He is for real

WEll I first met Amir at Hackspace 4 or 5 years ago when he told me "we are programming a new digital currency called Bitcoin" - so I stayed in touch with him, and guess what. He did it. So I don't need anybody else to confirm it for me - I know its true.

***** you mean libbitcoin. He was the first person to write a complete clone of the reference implementation, not a founder coder. He was a pretty active early-adopter, and did some important stuff, but you can't say he was "one of three founders."
