Yves Saint Laurent was actually Kering's biggest earner, but pop culture hyped Gucci, and with Tom Ford's effort to rejuvenate the brand, Gucci became popular amongst the general public. I don't think they really care to reestablish Gucci's luxurious exclusivity because, remember, the middle and lower class purchase more than the upper class. As such, they earn more profit that way. Sure, it may tarnish brand perception, but earning a gross amount of 7.1 billion on average within a year is no easy feat. I don't think Gucci can be considered true luxury anymore, and I don't think that's Kering's objective to begin with. I'd argue LVMH followed a similar path with Louis Vuitton that Kering did with Gucci, except LVMH has way more brands to rely on, if one fails; Kering isn't able to do the same.

This is cope. The "discount rack" is always just the tees and giant logo handbags and other miscellaneous stuff, or even the basic low top shoe with the bee logo. The regular high end pieces you wouldn't even be able to identify as Gucci unless you were super familiar with the brand that go for thousands are still in line with every one of these other high end fashion houses.

Luxury brands like Gucci actually appeal more to people who aspire to be wealthy. Truly wealthy people are far more modest in the way they dress. The "old money" aesthetic is closer to something you might see James Bond wearing, far more tasteful than most the tat these brands come out with.

Because Gen Z spends money on tech and not high-end designer clothes, shoes, bags, etc. Because Gen Y (aka Mills) are too broke & Gen X is in so much debt because they bought all the Gucci.

I can assure Gen X was the last one bought Italian made brands one fifth of today's prices... Their brands spending just got wasted on projects that didn't retain Long Term Customer Values... Gen Z is literally known as the brand-obsessed/designer-obsessed generation. They have been buying this stuff and more. And why? Because they don't see any point in saving for a home they don't think they will ever afford.
@ssuwandi32406 ай бұрын
@@venus_envy I would say they're the most brainwashed generation out of social media from a very young age. So psychologically they watched too many things not supposed to be on their radars.. Gen X was the last one with a normal upbringing and minimal exposure of Internet trolling due to pricey and slow internet accesss. They saw none beyond their own neighborhood backyard. Today if one just signed up on FB the first thing to see was a child and adult hands in questionable positions.. That's how morally bankrupt the media world we are living in today. The younger the more likely they are unknowingly abused and enslaved to the highest bidders.
