Listening to you during 2023 lit a fire under me. When you said you’ve got to get to one Bitcoin before it is out of reach. Before you I was buying between $500 and $1,000 Bitcoin a month. After taking your teaching seriously I stepped on the gas removing from a low yield brokerage account and turned it into Bitcoin. I reached my first Bitcoin in the late summer of 2023 and said if one is good two is better so over a month I bought my second Bitcoin. I am now sitting with 2.2 Bitcoin and am no longer buying. Average cost $28,000 and now along for the ride. Can’t thank you enough.

How about this?: Someone has asked GBTC to use selling to manipulate the market down in exchange for the promise of a fixed profit while the someone gets financing together to buy BTC up at the lowest price possible. GBTC takes a write off, the someone makes a shit load of money on the delta of the bitcoin buy from selling only part of their holdings and they hand GBTC the guaranteed profit they were promised. GBTC reduces their exposure on bitcoin and yet has a very successful year in terms of overall profit. The someone is a HODL/ride or die and goes on to make a shit ton in 2 to 5 years which dwarfs the guaranteed payment they paid GBTC to manipulate the market down.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to hold your cheap cost bitcoin and have it grow and just hire the bullet and pay the higher fees? Not to mention selling at short or long term capital gains.

GBTC clients are obviously selling but for someone that claims to have been in this industry I’m surprised you’re not understanding the rebalancing of exposure by the ETFs. A lot of people bought in the 40s and 50s. If they went for the max 1% exposure then they would clearly now be over that, and need to adjust. i.e sell

Is Blackrock buying what Grayscale is selling? It can't be ALL being bought by Blackrock. If it was an even exchange I don't assume it would affect the price. So grayscale is selling a lot more than Blackrock is able to buy. A lot of people are mad at Blackrock right now but if it wasn't for them and MicroStrategy going neck and neck we would be way down. ETFs gave a temporary boost but the pressure of that boost is being suppressed by Grayscale and retail sellers scared of volatility. Once that Grayscale selling eases and assuming ETFs continue to accumulate regularly I would expect the price to erupt up again.

Unless you're playing the short game it makes no difference what BTC does right now. I am 54, I am mining and buying BTC. My kids will be setup for life. I honestly believe I am creating generational wealth for the betterment of my families' future generations. But AVMGPT brings new light to not only the industry but humans in general and this is how everyone can have power in their own hands.
