Bite Sized Oddities - NS 8104

Everyone and there grandmother knows what a Heritage Unit is. Usually when making a heritage unit, the design is modified and changed before going to the paint shop for the final product. for one of NS's iconic Heritage Units, it had a rather "rough" start so to speak.

NS has the chance to do the best thing in railroading history when repainting the heritage units.

The NS GE units don't seem to suffer from the paint chipping issue (reminds me of SP's unintentional "Desert Storm tribute") that some EMD heritages do, although they have already repainted a few of those EMDs including the Virginian 1069 that was released today!

Let’s hope the leave 1073 the way it is. 1073 is really honoring the PennCentral heritage by having its paint flake off. That’s true dedication to heritage right there.

Man I hate when people trash on csx heritage units I mean sure is not like union pacific or norfolk southern heritage units but just be glad that csx did some heritage units

Great Video! BSO video idea: BNSF 6026, BNSF 8231, and BNSF 6887 all have stickers on them, each a " Budget Heritage Unit". One for the BN, one for the ATSF, and one for the NP. Would love to see you do a video on these!

BN also did the "patches" tribute prior to BNSF's current "heritage" locomotives, with their two "Pacific Pride" GP 38-2 units, 2075 and 2085.

A few year's ago that engine was involved in a grade crossing collision, out family friend and mechanic and his wife passed away in it.

Love it, I wonder if you could do a video about 8098 & CSX 1976 the Conrail Heritage Unit's from both Railroads, it would be cool to see them doubleheading can't wait though to see whenever that happens.

NS #8104 has a redesign but its not the same as it was before.
