Go raibh maith agat!! So useful! But 44 killed me. I am German and thought I was experienced in CH-sounds, but the number 44 taught me a lesson... Amazing! Thanks Siobhan!

Is there a certain context, or region(s) in which it's either more appropriate, or just common usage for people to number things in scór? I've only heard someone use score when they were quoting the American president, Abraham Lincoln. And, when you say 40 can be said both 'daichead', or 'ceathracha', is there a context in which one is more appropriate?

I would be interested to know as well. Is daichead and ceathracha used in different dialects? Also I hear scór used a lot on radio na Gaeltachta. Is this a regional variation as well?

I heard somewhere that there is an "is" between the tens and ones column, such as "ochto is a hocht". Is that a dialect or grammar thing, or an error?

Go raibh maith agat! One remark: I keep scrolling through the video but can't seem to find the numbers 10 to 19. I came to the conclusion you left them out, but I think including them would make for a more logical learning video.

Yes, I too was wondering why 10 was not mentioned, and if the 11-19 are the same as the 21-29, or if they're like English, French, and Spanish, where the teens are all different.

One way for numbers another for people another for concepts COME on our Lauguage is MORE complex we have different way for people and concepts etc.. so express that example ...Duine amháin: one person. Beirt: two people. Triúr: three people. Ceathrar: four people. Cúigear: five people. Seisear: six people. Seachtar: seven people. Ochtar: eight people.

Indeed, but these are 'bitesize' lessons, so this simply deals with counting to 100. In our opinion it is better to learn one counting system before proceeding to learn another. If you are not comfortable that you have learned one before starting a different one you are likely to get mixed up and end up not being able to use any of them correctly! 😉
