Man we got that first cool night over here yesterday. First good sleep in a bout a half year too. People suddenly bundle up in shock saying "October already? Year's over" Wrong. 43:43 Kid Icarus was just after the Black Box era, where there were 30 of those. We saw 3 Silver Box games, Kid Icarus, Metroid, and Rad Racer. The latter was nearly a Black Box games, as early copies would prove with their Black Box style manuals (blue lettering on a black color cover). We would also later find out, from Nintendo leaks, that Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, and The Legend of Zelda were also going to be released as BB style games, with some early box art pics showing them both off as such. So I've come to the conclusion... at least in my life. That my favorite thing is sleep... but not just any sleep... the sleep I want but can't have because of life responcibilities. Like... I could go to bed at 8pm, I don't want to, I want to stay up till 2am playing video games in the privacy of my office with the wife and kids in bed. Then, when it's time to go to sleep, its the greatest thing ever... but I wake up at 6am... and when my alarm goes off... MORE sleep is the greatest thing in the world... because I can't have it. Or, its a lazy weekend, and I only got 4 hours of sleep the previous night... and I want to take a noon nap for 2 hours... but I have things to do... THATS the greatest sleep ever. My idea of retirement is to go to sleep and wake up when ever I want, and to take a nap whenever and as long as I want to... in perpetuity. EVERYTHING beyond that is icing on the top.... but only if that first statement is true.

I picked up a(quite rough but working) Sony CFS-66 for $10 over the weekend and was listening to Queensrÿche’s “Empire” on cassette through it. Made me think of you, and when you had that boom box to play the “theme song of the day” if I remember that part right.
