I disagree about always slotting the BEST engine you have available on your aircrafts. Especially as a minor, lower production cost may be required. Current air meta is definitely quality over quantity but I am able to lower production costs by not using the best engine and still win the air war (at least against AI). Your production cost can skyrocket above to 110 if you use the best engine. Cannons are also better at killing bombers than enemy fighters. Machine guns are good against fighters. That being said, I always attach one set of cannons to my fighters for the air attack boost and so they can intercept bombers efficiently. Love your vids! I'm hoping I'll see a return to mods!

Just found this game like 2 weeks ago. Have around 50 - 60 hours under my belt and have never beat a game. Lol just so much to learn. Watching these videos are so interesting. After seeing a few different content creators for HOI4, Bittersteel is by far my favorite!! Hopefully I can beat a game before my 100h mark 😂

yeah he is definitely the most competent player among the single player hoi4 youtubers. most of the single player channels look impressive to a newbie like yourself, but are actually terrible at the game lol. (i speak from experience lol, thought people like taureor were really good when i was new, but now i know hes kinda terrible. Bitt3rSteel is significantly better lol) i highly recommend checking out anyone who plays multiplayer hoi4 on twitch or something, you will learn a ton about the game and get way better at it just by watching them. Bokoen1 is a fun start, good gameplay and also hilarious.

this happened to me, but my military was so weak that i had almost zero war score against the axis, when i cancelled military access for the UK, they immediately declared war on Iraq and crushed our faction in like 4 months

I know this is extremely cheesy but if you can force a nation you are at war with into 1 port, you can just sit there killing off 100s of divisions. you have to make sure you never actually take the port, then just wait for them to come to you. once divisions land in port you instantly kill them, cancel the order, and repeat. I did this the other day as Greece(Byzantine path) first let turkey invade Athens, then i killed off every division the moment they landed. they had like 10 divs left by the time did a full offensive over the Bosporus. after that, I did the same thing with Italy. they invaded port Patras, I sat there killing off about 75-100 divisions. after i tricked the ai into moving the fleet from the Adriatic, i naval invaded. they had about 30 divisions left by the time a attacked.

Construction repair only speeds up repairing factories. And from my own testing and from FeedBackGaming air defence is way more OP than air attack so you should stack as many armour plates as you can on your fighters.

ALWAYS HAVE PORT GAURD. The first thing my friend taught me while he stuck me on germany for my first game ever. I forgot and it took us almost half a year to kick every, single, god damn, devision the allies put in there. It was ober 50 form ever Allies nation. (This was before the tank update) i had like maybe 5 tank divs at the time. (I kmow rookie mistake i qas knew leave me alone) but we still crushed them.

to be fair, calling puppets is an easy mistake to make, the logical thought process would be that more countries on your side would make the fighting easier since you have more of an economy and more raw troops. to this day im not entirely convinced chille wasnt created just to protect the rest of SA from a cheeky navel invasion...

Bittersteel, the thing about the puppets at the begining, Britain has a focus that gives them wargoals on essentially the entire Middle east, chances are Britain also declared war on the other puppets soon after the war started bringing them into the fight, so likely wasnt his fault but the British having wargoals is the problem, just putting it out there, also who watches these at 8 am?

@@Bitt3rSteel hey, question, I have a grand strategy game that you can play if you ever want to do a series like another Paradox player "Pravus" its called Conflict of Nations: WW3 its online but slow paced enough for strategies and other stuff, and as you level up you get more maps, just be careful when opening the newspaper theres 1/20 chance someone was being a troll and posted something inappropriate on it, other than that its awesome with controls being easy to use with a simplistic use of "trade deals" which are actually just treaties that you can make if you dont want to control entire territories, its one of 5 things that you can both offer and demand, that being Peace, Right of Way(military access basically), Ceasefire(may have gotten rid of it with the last update), War, and Embargo(which was just added in the last update) so far I have a bunch of modes, Battleground USA (Every state of US, Mexico and Canada independent with a few Central American nations and the carribean), World War 3 (world map), Rising Tides (world but flooded), Zombies (yet to look at it), Flashpoint (kinda like Battleground USA but with Europe) and all of them have a 4x speed mode Heck, maybe theres more I have yet to know! Just a game I thought would be cool for you to play
