Great tutorial, thanks! :) I'm quite new to making music, tried a couple different DAWs but this year I decided to settle and got both Bitwig and Reason (to use as a VST). Was delighted to find your channel and see that you're doing stuff for both! Also bonus points for using a stock loop so I didn't need to go hunting for one, made it easier to follow along.

One other thing you could set up is to lower the rise and fall controlls of the audio sidechain, so they follow the short transients of the drumms better.

In using the same input signal of the channel to make the eq dynamic, why not just use the envelop follower?
