can you make a video explaining tempo detection in bitwig? i find it too confusing!
@StefanSauer3 ай бұрын
Yes these devices are super powerful. You went over some of your uses pretty quickly, but I think it is a great reminder for people to use them more.

@@StefanSauer Yep, it's a video to motivate sound exploration

8:00 A device I really would like to see in Bitwig is an EQ container doing just that: applying an EQ before its contained devices, and undoing the changes after. Super useful for non-linear processing. For instance I'm using this quite a lot for distortions, creating a resonance before the disto and undoing that after.
@AlexReidStudios3 ай бұрын
It would be great if there was a sidechain container, not only for compressors

Awesome video, and in the future as new ideas arise I can see even another continuatuon for these effects. Super cool as they're completely underused for me, also bc of the cpu load.

Funny that you made this video today, as I coincidentally made a 4-band OTT with the frequency split, works pretty well so far. Obviously sounds a bit different, but for some reason, I like having multiple OTT presets that I use at different points
@AlexReidStudios3 ай бұрын
Honestly I hadn't thought of that and it sounds great
@jona86593 ай бұрын
the one you made is linear phase, so thats kinda neat
@aerrowqueing3 ай бұрын
@@jona8659 yeah, kinda, that was my idea. The frequency split should be a bit cleaner compared to the regular splitting methods in bitwig
@buckycore3 ай бұрын
Yes they do.
@Beatsbasteln3 ай бұрын
it seemed like Harmonic Split on lower sensitivity values sounds more like a spectral gate, which makes a lot of sense considering that it trys to isolate harmonic content from noisy ones. Do you know if there's a way to merge the even with the odd frequencies to just have one tonal and one noisy effect chain?
@AlexReidStudios3 ай бұрын
@@Beatsbasteln Not that I can think of, except maybe with audio receivers

Hi and thanks for the interesting video. I have a question.Does this really work the same way as Soothe 2?
@AlexReidStudios3 ай бұрын
@@michail_777 I'm sure Soothe does more things under the hood, but this one works well to supress resonances
@aerrowqueing3 ай бұрын
No, it doesn't, I think. Pretty sure Soothe is just a very advanced dynamic EQ and this solution is spectral, which Soothe isn't, as far as I know.
@jona86593 ай бұрын
nah, not really under the hood, but it can archieve similar results. i'd recomment compressing the louds instead of turning them down, itll sound more natural
@vroteg3 ай бұрын
Those devices are ruining sound. Be careful using them for mixing as you may do more harm than good. If it’s for sound design no problem. But definitely don’t use them as soothe.

Piano roll is the worst part of Bitwig. They should focus on piano roll now. Studio One, Ableton, Cubase and FL Studio has pretty good piano roll.
