Biuret test

Biuret test is a test used for detection of peptides and proteins. Biuret reacts with the peptide in presence of copper ions and forms a complex which is blue or violet in colour.

Exactly... The reagent itself doesn't contain biuret. The reagent is named so bcoz it also gives a positive reaction to the peptide-like bonds in the biuret molecule.
