I have the shifter [with reverse lockout add on handle]. It puts a lot of force through mounting points, and the standard Next Level Racing mount on my GTUltimate simrig does move quite a bit. I also need to replace the mounting bolts I used, for something more substantial. Having said that, I enjoy the feel of the SQ shifting up and down through the gears. It is very firm and definite when shifting. Great review, thanks Will.

I just ordered the one with the lockout, how does it work? Do you have to actually use it? Or can you map it to use as a line locker?

I've have these, and very happy with them. They only issue I've had though is when they were sent the tracking info wasn't updating. I tried to contact BJSR a few times but never got any response. Email address on website seemed to be out of commission. I did fear they'd gone out of business. As said, they did arrive and I'm VERY happy with them but comms seem an issue.

I have nothing but bad things to say about this shifter. Brought new from Pagnian for $600. First imho the item had been returned the box was squashed and dog eared in the tongues which says it was opened a number of times like it was for demonstration . Next the tiny mount. Why would you make such a small mounting surface for such a heavy and long item? The answer is simple, so they could save money by making the mount 1 piece but this means that the edges are rolled ! So when you have something moving like this the round edges exacerbate the actions ! engineering 101 ! Next the gold bushes. Not only does the shifter wobble back and forth but this causes the shifter handle to rattle and vibrate at the bushes ! you can shake it by hand and feel the looseness in the bushes where it should be rock solid ! It is like a tuning fork ! Next is the clunky and loud shifting, maybe mine was already damaged but upshift was very hard and the downshift very light nothing alike.

great content and reviews, quick question though deciding on a hand brake, would you prefer the bj or the aiolog? both very close in price so just looking for what feels better to use?
@boostedmedia2 жыл бұрын
BJ feels more authentic but Aiologs is far better build quality.
@lukeottodegrancy4402 жыл бұрын
Cheers, i may need a couple more recomendations in the near future aswell. Just ordered the next level F-GT elite. So soon next will be pedal choice, and im really leaning towards the heusinkvield sprint or the asetek invicta Then next will be wheel and base wich im kind of lost completely with. Defenatly hoping to keep under 2g for wheel and base
@lukeottodegrancy4402 жыл бұрын
@@boostedmedia After doing some hard thinking, i decided to go with the Heusinkveld handbrake lol, i figured it would have that more authentic feeling being load cell same as BJ, but also after seeing your reviews of of Heusinkveld peddles i took the gamble that the handbrake would be great build quality aswell, along with lots of adjustability. hopefully ive made a good decision, i also ordered the Aiolog Sequential Shifter. I am very much leaning towards getting some Heusinkveld Sprint pedals also (once my bank account looks healthy again haha)

if it is such a simple design, how come its so expensive? Or do i just not have a reference point at all? lol
@boostedmedia3 жыл бұрын
CNC machined Billet aluminium parts are not cheap which I would imagine contributes to the bulk of the cost. I would like to see a higher quality overall build for the price though.
@JP-xd6fm2 жыл бұрын
Now the handbrake costs 210 euros instead of 165...
@KarlGosling3 жыл бұрын
I think the overall presentation and finish is sub par for the price, 3D printing as you say Will is not really expected at this price point.

Load cell handbrake? Handbrakes in rally cars are basically on/off switches anyway, they want to immediately lock and unlock the rear wheels. Go ask a rally driver.
@BGR_333 жыл бұрын
The shifter wobbling while sitting on a flat table bothers me. 😅
@boostedmedia3 жыл бұрын
The base isn’t perfectly flat as it’s a single piece of steel that’s bent in a U shape. We covered the wobble once mounted later in the video. :)
@VishnuRajam4x43 жыл бұрын
You don’t actually need a handbrake for rallycross on iracing. The pros don’t use a handbrake.
@boostedmedia3 жыл бұрын
I guess it comes down to driving style. As I said I’m far from an expert on the matter and am not pretending to be otherwise. I can only comment on how I perceive it impacts driving.

@@boostedmedia wasn’t trying to knock you, just a pointer that I learned myself recently. I was quite surprised to learn this myself. There are a few tracks where you can use the handbrake but I believe it’s generally slower. I see more handbrake usage on the pro 4 trucks though.

That handbrake looks like a rip off of the old Heusinkveld with a different handle. Yikes.. down to the hose on the bump stop and the claw style arms for the bump stops. Hell the mounting and side plates are identical. Sad we highlight companies like this...
