Before you guys lynch me for not mounting this great shifter on the left side, as we all know that's how the real cars are configured, remember I was raised racing with a right hand shifter. I briefly tried to use it on the left side, but it made for some pretty awkward heel and toe work. And if you buy this shifter, I wanted to make sure you know it works quite well mounted on the right side of your rig too :)

Fair enough if you're from the US and it's natural - but 'thats how the real cars are configured?' Aussie V8 Supercars sit on the right, shift with their left. Anyway, phenomenal piece of kit for sure, great review as always Barry!

This is a very cool shifter, but what about the feeling of gear engagement? I have a simworx sequential and it dosnt really have an engagement feel.. It's just a firm push and pull. Awesome shifter though. Is this is the same? the actual box part with the buttons look identical. I think I'd like one of these and mount the shifter right up next to the steering wheel, but put the shifter box further back more hidden next to the seat with a longer rod, for a bit more of an authentic look. Looks kinda clunky having it all mounted together.
@mrdobalina34515 жыл бұрын
Simracer #138 confirming this doesn’t feel anything like changing gears. I don’t know why Barry doesn’t mention this... Completely over priced considering that fact. Look at Pro-Sim or others for that feature.

Very cool. However the market is pretty saturated with sequential shifters. All pretty dang good too. What about H-Patterns? Are they just to complicated to make? I’d really like to see a large selection of H-pattern shifters to choose from. I currently have a Fanatec but it’s still to toy like. There’s no resistance when changing gears. I also can’t afford to spend $2k on a shifter so...

Depending on what type of sequential gearbox you want to emulate. The Pro Sim has a more mechanical action feel to it. The SimWorx is smoother, but still has good tactile feedback. You really need to try both to be sure of what you like best.

Looks a bit flimsy for my taste:D Some guy said the real Supercar-drivers are using GT3-cars in iRacing for practice... Maybe not true, but a Z4 without lowest aero, ABS and TC could be a handful either and when it's too hard in a sim, it's usually BS.
