Thank you, that was very interesting. In the winter of 1970, In Fork's WA., I worked as a bucker behind a famous faller; Myren Simmons [ he worked as a faller with a hand saw, when he was young]. We worked in an old growth Cedar swamp. I bucked giant trees like that 6 hours a day. I think " Bjarne" is the greatest faller/bucker [ single-jack] in the world today. His videos are a treasure, beyond measure! Michael

I'm an ex forestor born in Canada who grew up in the UK although never worked in Canada as a forestor. I noticed when the chain clogged up you cleared by pulling the blocked chain towards you. I always found pushing the saw ie in the same sense of rotation the chain cleared quicker.

Only thing with that is if you're dogged into the cut you'd have to pull your bar clear then push it through, but I see what you mean and can see how it would also work

@@kelseywiniata9249 I was referring to after you've pulled the saw out of the cut if that's what you mean by dogged. I'm not aware of the expression. I have dogs on my saw which serve to lever the bar to cut down through the log when cross cutting or later limbing

It would really be interesting to see what the rigging crew does when they are yarding out and ripping logs

What length bars do the bucking crews use?
@FinnishClimber12 күн бұрын
36inch generally for bucking, and 6ft bar for rippers usually mounted on a 3120xp or 880/881 Stihl

A big tree of that diameter WITH a rotten core still will yield a decent amount of lumber.

Great movie 🎥 Bjarne, that big red is a pipe!! I’m wondering what the maximum lifting capacity is for the bird that’s logging your timber? Stay safe out there ✊

I finally know how to pronounce your name @1:00 Google gave me two different pronunciations, but neither of them matched the way you say it.

Does that cedar dust bother you? It would give me bad asthma. Hard on lungs.

What video resolution are you using to shoot your videos? Your's are the only videos I watch that constantly stall to reload my buffer. Perhaps a lower resolution would provide you with more hours of memory and less interruptions for viewers?

I don't get any stall, it plays right through here.
