There seems to be such a stark change from 2020 onwards. Up to 2019 looks like an amature progressing steadily in ability, while 2020 up to 2024 all look like a talented artist experimenting with different styles

Hey Brandon, I just want to say, thanks for inspiring me to make Pixel Art. I first saw your Shovel Knight video, and my Pixel Art wasn't really where I wanted it to be, but I've gotten a lot better (more powerful than you can imagine lol) as time's moved on. It might be hard to see your progress through the artworks themselves, as each year takes a different style, but you can clearly tell you’ve made progress bc your ambition grows w each piece. That’s a very valuable lesson for new and novice creators alike. Everyone wants to create something big and spectacular when they first start but then lose motivation when they realize they don’t have the necessary skills to achieve that vision. Getting to that vision is a process, it takes many many years until you can start chipping away at it. It’s okay to start small, it’s normal to feel like you’re moving slow, as long as you keep pushing yourself to move forward on the path you feel as though you need to be on.

2023 is my favorite personally but the best thing about this series is showing your progression over the years. I think it serves as a great inspiration to anyone who starting out a new hobby or craft and maybe isn't happy with their ability yet and is worried they may never improve.

2024 is my favorite of your Luke sprites. The more dramatic pose and shading does a lot to emphasize the progression. Thanks so much for sharing your art journey with me.

I love this! My favourite overall is the 2021 one, because of the fluid animation. I can't animate, and seeing this just give me so much awe. But as a still the 2024 one is my favorite, it just has the most charming pose/silhouette and overall stylization.
