Just started practicing bjj and realized how important adductor strength was almost immediately. Went searching KZbin for bjj drills and yours is pretty much the only one that discusses it. Well done video. Subbed.

Thank you so much for the sub! Ego is a big reason for not training abductors unfortunately.

John Danaher's RNC barely uses a squeeze at all. He's using the Rhomboid Major to pull the shoulderblade towards the spine and this method is way stronger. I tested his RNC method and even without much grappling experience, I can tap people over their chin with 2 hands inserted over the chin.

Squeeze is needed for defending arm bar, wrestling, body locks etc, guard retention (lower body squeeze strength needed) Also try doing the RNC in them championship minutes ...hell yeah you'll need that Squeeze

How long should you hold the squeeze ? And should u do it in sets like 3 or 2 sets
@stasisjiujitsuandyoga
@stasisjiujitsuandyoga 6 ай бұрын
That's the great part of this. There is no hard rule on it. Work your way up from a low, less intense squeeze/set and gradually work up! Consistency is more important than intensity. Do it every day or every other day and see how you feel. Hope this helps!

How would you improve the squeeze stamina for something like an arm triangle? I gassed myself out on it today and couldn't really finish the choke. thanks
@stasisjiujitsuandyoga
@stasisjiujitsuandyoga 3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I'll start by saying the arm triangle should be finished with your body doing most of the work and your arms accenting then finish. Remember to never squeeze with all your might on a choke because of the risk of gassing your arms. What I usually say is, squeeze with just enough to get the choke successful and nothing more. How you figure that out is by grabbing a training partner and telling them to give you feed back on your squeeze. Start really light then slowly increase the pressure until your partner taps, giving you a better idea as to how much power you need and nothing gets wasted. What I will do for you is film a quick arm triangle breakdown during some time next week. Tell me your Instagram handle and when I post it you can be tagged. How does that sound :)
