My coach calls it “chip damage”… for example when you shoot up a triangle during training and you get stacked, it’s best to just let the triangle go rather than taking chip damage and hurting your neck and back… if it’s a tournament obviously you want to stay on the submission, but in training , for the sake of your own health, it’s better just to let go

Love this. As a dad of a one year old I’be been dealing with soreness more often, primarily because of the lack of proper recovery (sleep) and I’ve embraced that I can go hard only once out of every 4 weekly sessions, otherwise I start to accumulate fatigue and I get injured more often

Going hard once a week is good man. I used to go hard every day. But once I got my trash truck driving job pulling heavy dumpsters 60 plus hours a week. Being able to keep that high pace just isn't possible anymore. I only train hard twice a week now.

I'm new to bjj but have been resistance training for 10 years on and off. Having a deload week for resistance training is so key for your central nervous system to recover.

Fantastic take gents!!! Joint soreness is reeeeeeealllllllll! I’m a 46yo purple belt; very athletic and now wiser through this journey. I didn’t realize how much NaCl, Mg, and K I was losing during my daily rolls. Ive been supplementing with a banana and LMNT before the morning class. And it has paid off big time. Supplement and sleep maters Fosho. Thanks for the vid

Just subbed. After doing and still doing MT over a year and recently picking up BJJ past 4 months I'm very sensitive of choosing partners esp in sparring. Nearly 39 and mentally my brain needs that rest especially choosing certain sparring partners...

Awesome video as always, for me the pain is just annoying. I'm like '30 mins of rolling for two days of pain?'. I'm starting to think I'm the wrong side of forty for this kind of abuse. Its getting old.

I never paid attention to this until last December when I got costochondritis. It's such a b*tch and there's not much you can do about it, just wait. Way more careful in my training now and it's just not worth it for me. A bit annoying cuz a lot of the competitive feeling is gone, but at least I'm still on the mats

Drugs help with muscles and cns but dont help with joints and tendoms. Meybe gh on some point. The biggest game changer is doing sport as you main thing. If you have to go to normal job for 10 hours and everyday tired there and lack of sleep you never mask this with drugs. Meybe for some time but when wather drops you are fucked. 10 years drug user, ex powerlifer, 2 month in bjj😊
