High rep drilling is the unsung hero of all physical endeavors, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Everyone wants to roll, but few people want to drill...I say, work hard drilling, so you can play hard rolling...anyway, I digress.
I set this little rig up in about 30 seconds to practice bump n' shoot and shrimp side mount escapes. It's not as good as having a partner, but I'd argue it's just as good, if not better, than a standard grappling dummy (at least for this particular movement pattern...it moves with you and at least provides some dynamic resistance).
I used the top of a wave heavy bag, a landmine pivot an old barbell and a yoga mat. In pinch you could probably accomplish the same thing with a barbell wedged into a corner, and few beach towels rolled tight around the end.
