Ragnar died a prisoner in a pit of snakes. Bjorn, while knocking on deaths door many hours after having been run through with a sword, dawned full battle rattle, mounted a big ass steed and rode alone up to the front of and faced off against the largest army any Viking had ever seen. He took three direct arrow hits essentially center mass and stayed in the saddle, and still stared down his enemy. Then he drew his sword and was joined by every man woman and child strong enough to pick up a weapon and defend their homeland, and then it was Game F’n On. Yeah one of the two Deaths between Ragnar and Bjorn is a little more epic than the other and I don’t think it involves any snakes.

This might be my single favorite scene in television history. It felt so correct for the character. Bjorn was always meant to be unstoppable, it only made sense that he leave this world on his terms

The soundtrack transcended this scene into infamy....pure gold.

Bjorn in my opinion went out like a true warrior true will power and determination to never show weakness and give up. He accomplished more than Ragnar ever did. He brought all of Norway together

Björn had the best death in the Series handsdown. Only followed second by the legend himself: Ragnar. Imo why Björn's death is the best is that it's a pure parallel between Ragnar's death rallying the great Heathen army for Vengeance, while Björn's death Rallied Everyone from Norway to become the Ironside to the Rus, defending their home! Plus Snake pit Poetry makes Björn's death even more epic.

For those who have experienced VIKINGS, to watch a little boy a son of Ragnar who lived in his Father's shadow and then become a man and then inevitably lose all the heroes, lovers and family and way of life, to be treacherously defeated in what anyone would consider his birthright but still give EVERYTHING for the sake of your people. What a story.

Imagine the first arrow would have landed in his head, Bjorn plunged to the ground and his army would just awkwardly stroll over the hill because without him summoning them how are they going to know when to make their dramatic charge? 😂
