This is exactly what I did four months ago. Owned a 2019 Model 3 and after two years traded it in for a 2022 I-Pace. It has so many features that significanlty improved my driving experience. Smooth and sharp steering, heated windshield and wipers, cooled seats, digital rear view mirror, blind spot LEDs on side mirrors, 360 surround camera, physical dials for climate, incredible sound system, and Apple CarPlay which is way better than Tesla's OS. Not to mention the I-Pace is a proper luxury car with leather and aluminum accents that elevate the experience. When I bought my Model 3, I felt I'd overpaid. But now I feel like I underpaid for the I-Pace. That's the best way to describe my experience with both cars. Not to mention you actually receive quality service with Jaguar. Tesla doesn't hesitate to leave customers high and dry. I experienced it myself firsthand when I was stood up for a service center appointment. I highly recommend making the switch.

Hey Bjoern- just a quick comment on the windscreen wiper function for winter. Actually Land Rover vehicles have had this feature for a number of years. In summer mode the wipers are stacked low behind the bonnet, so if in winter you need to flip them out to scrape ice and snow off the windscreen, then you need them in the winter mode. Also I lived 10 years in Russia in real cold winters and there, many people park their cars overnight with the wipers flicked away from the windscreen so not to to ruin the rubber when they freeze stuck to the windscreen.. hence a few advantages of this winter park mode. I just took delivery of my own 320EV, so enjoyed listening to your short experience with this exact model.

If there is one upside to battery tech still not giving as long range as quickly as ICE cars, it's that engineers come up with really clever energy saving measures such as the heating directed only towards occupied seats. I've also seen quite an improvement in smartphone power management. When we eventually get to something like 3x battery energy density or such, we can get so much more out of those batteries because we have to ration our battery energy today. I'm happy to see renewable energy sources getting much cheaper by the year. I find the sustainable future so exciting, because we're also getting much better products overall! Soon these smart BEVs will surpass ICE cars in every aspect.

Hi Bjørn... have you ever tested an ev that had a hook for trailer..? I live in Denmark and need to bring my small 600kg trailer for work..
My I-PACE has a trailer hook and is allowed to tow 750 kg. One can hardly notice that the trailer is hooked on except the much higher consumption.
@ronaldjanssen1054 жыл бұрын
Tesla Model 3 has a tow hitch and 1000 kg tow limit. At least here in NL. I tow a small folding tent trailer every summer (750kg). The ultra fast charging of the Model 3 really helps there. You do need to detach the trailer for supercharging (almost no nose-in chargers). Consumption depends on the aero features of the trailer. Buit if it stays under the trunk line it doesn't add that much.

@@kasmopaya2676 It won't be a completely new car and it might not get the 4680 cells in the beginning, but of course it will be improved (because Tesla always tweaks things), but also this will only increase the consumption difference between the Model Y and its competitors.
@kasmopaya26764 жыл бұрын
@@Intelligent_Bot Indeed, but keep in mind that it is highly likely they will put the 4680 battery's produced right now 24/7, in Fremont into the first Y out of Berlin. (where are they supposed to go, Elon said it himself, Berlin Y gets 4680 cell 2 years before any other Tesla) The Structural battery pack needs 4680 cells to work, so there is a 99,99% chance that it will have 4680 cells from the beginning. Later Teslas own from Giga Berlin. Guessing 95 kWh battery pack for Berlin Y right from the start.

I was also looking for a car which helps me when I am on the road for business, an integrated charging pass is very usefull, because not everywhere I go is a supercharger available, other charging options must be available and visible in the navigation (with live status of all charging stations). Having the possibility to add waypoints in the navigation is a must. And navigation direction must be projected on the windscreen (I used to have this in my previous X3). At night I expect state of the art Matrix Led lights (masking out when needed). A towbar that can be hided automatically is a very practical feature. A cover for the panoramic glass (roof) is a must to keep out heat and more important cold, I used to have that in my previous X3.
