In Germany basically no changes. Still 69ct and 49ct with 5,99€ monthly. But a new option starts at 39ct for 11,99€ monthly. (Either way, since their chargers are spaced so far apart ENBW still is the better option (even Tesla Superchargers are more common than ionity, but still not as common as ENBW).

Is the car on 18" wheels or 20" wheels? Edit; Seems to be on 18" as the re-test of bZ4X was. You said 235/60 in the video and that would be 18 ;) Biggest differences would be from temperature, deep charge and driving speed. They are both made on the same factory (Aichi, Japan). So better would translate to styling and interior. Drivetrain and battery on AWD are similar acc. specs. The Lexus has a larger motor in the front but is also heavier. Anyway; thank you very much for the test. We are driving our bZ4X Executive Bitone from Norway to a greek island via Turkey in june - apx. 3.700 km. one way, so nice with tips IF we decide to "hammer it" from time to time. After 10 drives over the years this year's trip is more about experiencing Europe so the plan is smaller roads and some destination charging. Absolutely love the car btw.

@@miraphycs7377 Toyota fighting against EV adoption for the entire industry by pushing against clean air regulations that would help our environment and the air we breathe just to benefit themselves is arguably worse than what you listed. And then having a giant BS marketing campaign about being “beyond zero” even though they aren’t even remotely close to being zero nevertheless “beyond zero” is borderline greenwashing. Also don’t forget Toyota has done similar things to what you’ve listed those other companies as doing, don’t forget they had an unintentional acceleration scandal that took over 80 people’s lives and they had the audacity to blame it on solely user error and badly installed floor mats when they had an accelerator pedal with a design flaw they knew about but was trying to hide from the public and government. They tried so hard to make the public believe it was the users fault and not their fault even though it was, in most cases, Toyotas fault. Thats scummy.

"Solid results for the RZ! " Incorrect. In reality it was quite mediocre. It was beaten by 73 other cars while it only beat 55 other cars. "And you know the RZ will still be supported many many years down the road unlike many other EV brands." That's a weird claim. "Haters gonna hate, but their is no denying Lexus/Toyota quality and reliability." Is that why so many customers returned their subpar BZ4X cars due to poor winter range? Or why Toyota issued a recall on the model because of the risk of losing the wheels while driving? It's kind of interesting how one of the largest automakers in the world is at the bottom when it comes to EV transition. Add to that their stupid claims about EVs and it's not hard to understand why so many people view Toyota as the clown of the industry.

@@ParzivalHB "@yourcrazybear The overall on this car is descent charge speed, pretty low consumption rate and EXCELLENT driving qualities with ride and build. That's SOLID." If it had great charging speed and consumption the results would not have been mediocre in this test. It's not solid. It's mediocre. " You are taking one metric and throwing this car in the garbage can." I was commenting on the topic for this video, as were you. If you want to take a swing at the mediocre range you are welcome to do that as well. "Future support is IMPORTANT - not a weird comment at all. Knowing your car company has a long history of survival, strong dealer network for any repairs necessary with an appropriate parts bin to replace parts without taking months, software updates, recalls, etc. is MEANINGFUL. " On the contrary. It's a weird comment if you try and claim that the clown of the industry would be the safest bet for long term support. The simple fact is that if Toyota doesn't get their shit together soon they will meet the same fate as Nokia and Kodak. It's a risky move to buy a Toyota today. "Those are the other boxes many car company can't check ie." Nonsense. Tesla is the leader in the industry. They would be the last company to fall. Legacy automakers on the other are fighting for their survival. "Tesla's takes months to repair, " You better hide from people with experience telling another story. "Fisker out of business, " So will Toyota unless they change their path. "Rivian (hmm maybe they will survive?)," They are putting in a greater effort than Toyota to say the least. "Hyundai/Kia denying battery claims resulting in a totalled car," There are countless happy owners of Hyndai and Kia. "VW horrible software needing to hard reset the ID4." Horrible software? Much like the rest of the legacy automakers then, including Toyota. "Pick your poison, there is NO perfect car company." Which is kind of irrelevant since I never claimed that. It also doesn't change the fact that this car did get mediocre results in the test.

My info from Toyota is, that you don't get less punishment points if you charge slower. Would be nice, if it was like that. You should have limited the charging to 125kW to avoid the rapid gate, if that's possible in the rich mans Toyota. I drove 1300km over 4 days last weekend in nice 20°C weather, consumption was around 200Wh/km (2WD). We traveled with 5 adults, the car is always ready before the humans are. Nice and spacious car to travel with, but to big for the city.

Probably because they bought some shitty cells and built that into the car so when you fast charge a lot, the cells individual SoC% will drift away from each other (because of different coulombic and Wh based efficiencies) and the BMS can't balance them fast enough so the BMS need time to rebalance the pack to avoid sharp SoC drops at low charge levels. Can't imagine any other reason.

A 1000 km challenge is probably not that far off from that, as the test should asimptotically approach the number that your idea for testing would net. And you could actually derive that data from within the test, by removing the time and distance traveled from the first leg up to a point where the soc is the same as it will be reached on the last charge of the test.
@kosiranze
@kosiranze 6 ай бұрын
@@Moody_Blues_ it would be comparable, but just as in the 1000km challenge, the soc to which the car gets charged would differ. This test would essentially present the cars average travel speed with charging on an infinetely long trip. The 1000km challenge otoh is arguably more relevant irl, as you generally start a road trip with a full battery and end with it somewhat empty. The presented test would essentially eliminate the advantage of a big battery for road trips in terms of range purely, and present the travel speeds after the first leg more accurately. If you are not sure on why that could be usefull, check out out of spec roadtrip comparison between lucid air and taycan, which clearly demonstrates that while lucid initially is faster due to its longer range, the taycan starts to gain on it after a few charges.

It's funny that Kona at around 0°C gets almost the same 1000km time, like the car that is more expensive, much newer, with improved aerodynamics and with hacks on, on top of the better weather. While I agree that the AWD will draw more energy, it's still a new chemistry than the one on the older Kona (that I have) and it seems to me that Toyota is actively mocking their customers (when it comes to EVs) on purpose so that they'd continue their hybrid legacy

Most automakers currently lose money for each BEV they sell (except for Tesla and BYD). Whether GM, Ford, Hyundai, or most Chinese and European companies, everyone is losing money in their EV business, which is why many are pulling back from EVs and shifting towards hybrids. Toyota would also become less profitable if this model became popular. Toyota's main EV product will be introduced around 2027/2028 with their Solid-State Batteries. It's why you don't seem them marketing their EVs. The less they sell, the better for Toyota.

Toyota has missed the train. And they do not believe in change, they want to keep the combustion engines... I give them maybe 10 years.

Very disappointing results. I think toyota is just making bad EVs on purpose so people assume they're all bad

Buying junk is when you have to see service on a not known unregular basis. For your newish car. This is not that. ;) Just a clarification of junk vs. quality. If you need longer range, or miss features pick another car. The factual quality? Unmatched.

@@atledavidsen4837 Factual quality will be determinded in the 2034 degradation tests when high mileage bZ4X, Solterra and RZ 450e cars start appearing. Until then we can't judge the quality.

@@szalaigabor1714 Factual quality is so much more than the battery. But you knew that. Besides, with the german Toyota Relax-program (that probably will find it's way to other countries too) in my case I would have to wait untill 2037. German warranty (with well stated terms) when servicing Toyota/Lexus at Toyota/Lexus dealerships anywhere in Europe is 15 (!) yrs./250.000 km. incl. battery. So tell me, why isn't other manufacturers that confident in their product? And what will this mean for deappriciation down the road? High mileage cars will surface long before btw. Plenty of bZ4X taxies here in Norway.

@@atledavidsen4837 "Buying junk is when you have to see service on a not known unregular basis. For your newish car. This is not that. ;) Just a clarification of junk vs. quality." Incorrect. Junk is a relative term and we are talking about EVs now. "If you need longer range, or miss features pick another car. T"! If you want a great car you should definitively pick another car. "The factual quality? Unmatched." Nonsense.

Why would you take a drive and stop and charge so many times? What's the problem with a true hybrid and over 1k km? Regarding Lexus, i supose you tried EX30 from Volvo, constantly 175 Kw charging, a lot more power and range.... Lexus and Toyota, stick to hybrid.

It's almost as if they're deliberately bad at it, or they do no benchmarking and actually believe it's a good product. I'm 120% sure that the RZ,the Bz4x and the UX ev will be very reliable and durable cars,but they are not good in the key area..being good ev . I should know,I have a polestar and a bz4x ..the polestar is lightyears ahead. Now if the Toyota's had 800v like the Koreans,but with Toyota reliability,and a proper route planning software with pre conditioning,and Tesla efficiency.. youd have the non plus ultra
