You are in Norway with a very good network charging station whatever pure EV car you drive. In France, for non Tesla driver, it is just a nightmare for long distance trip, almost no fast charger or supercharger stations on highways. For your daily drive, it is not an issue if you can charge at home or at work. Love your channel.

Plug-ins are good for 1 type of people only: if you live in a city and do only about 40km of daily driving, you can just charge it at night on a regular plug. For any other type of customer depending on where you live, a full ev, regular hybrid or ICE is the better choice.

Firstly, great video, I have just ordered my Xceed and watched your video twice for information as part of my research. One thing I found is that a PHEV type car is pointless if you are making long trips, using motorways a lot, because it will use mostly the petrol engine and though decent in that regard, as you showed yourself, it is not the best. Where this type of car excels, and this is why I choose the Xceed, is the ultra-urban trips, in and out of town where you use the electric drive more often, benefit from the slow self-charging from the wheels and of course, most importantly, the free charging points in shopping areas. And with a PHEV, plug it in!!! Thanks

If you drove let's say 60km on electricity, then the number comes to 6l/100km in normal hybrid mode. That's the same as the mild hybrid version. So seems like the advantage of the big battery disappears as soon as the charge runs out. Is that correct Or am I mistaken?

Assuming that he started refueling at 18:33 and finished at 19:29 and that 1L of fuel is equivalent to 8.9kWh (as per his last video) it would translate into 26.61 litres of fuel delivered in 56 seconds or 0.48 l/s. This gives you 4.22kWh per second of energy or a "charging" speed of 15,224kW. Pretty fast!

Tesla did not convince me finally due to poor build quality and noise on higher speeds. EQC i do not want to spend that much money. Looked for an mercedes c or e class as hybrid. More quiet but still expensive and no full electric. So i am finally in the area of Kia ceed, xceed as PHEV and eNiro. Difficult to decide, eNiro might win.

Well , I can compare this to my Passat GTE first generation. Avereage consum. 20kwh /100km Charge at home 0.15 Euro/kwh incl tax. So total cost for driving 100km on electric is 3 euro I drive to work 25km one way and charge at work at acost of 0.3 euro/kwh. So the avereage cost for 100km is 4.5 Euro. This is in Sweden , the diesel is expensive. And I only drive 20000 to 23000 km/year so thats work for me. If i did drive 35000km or more/year i would also get a diesel Why ? well because even if you charge a PHEV 2times /workday , you can only drive it 12000to 14000 km on electric /year . You will not be able to charge it much more/day

That's just my experience if it. This along with multiple studies showing that phevs emit more co2 than claimed. I think they have had their day. just go full electric. far better. Great Vid Bjorn.

On weekends etc. he enjoyed the benefits of ICE. His average fuel consumption was 2.0L/100km :D This summer he has changed to full EV, said that is enough to charge at Friday and Monday at work and only once a few months use public charging elsewhere. But that's all posible, because Kona has quite big battery.

Okay most of the time but in cold it sucks, so for half the year in Canada I hate going to the gas station. I’m not really sold as of yet on an EV for long trips but for around town daily driving absolutely. For example my current car, VW Jetta 2019 1.4t will get 4.7 l/100km even with an average speed of 125 km/h for an entire tank, but during COVID driving strictly short distance for 3 tanks I’ve only been able to achieve 8.6 l/100km even with conservative shifting at 2k rpm. My plan is to get the ID4 as my next daily driver once available and save the current car as a backup and for long trips only. I think a hybrid like this is the worst possible combination, it has all the complexity of an ICE engine combined with electric added on, I’ll stick to my 6 speed manual and a pure electric later.

Maybe non-Norwegian viewers don't know what "being sunnmøring" means. Sunnmøre is an area of Norway around Ålesund where the people are "known" to be stingy, as with Scottish people. Or economically aware or clever moneywise as I would call it, as half a sunnmøring myself. Also "know" to be enterprising and entrepreneurial peoples. As the myth goes. They will however drown if they fall off their normally very large fishing boats at sea as they swim in a raking in style (hence rich) with their hands instead of moving hands outwards as normal people would swim.

The point is 0 emissions in the daily city commute. The money/energy ratio is not always comparable. PHEV are not perfect transport machines, even EV's are not with today's battery technology and fossil thinking car manufacturers. Today's EV must be lighter and as aerodynamic as possible. The diesel engine in your car is perfect for long family holyday trips, but what about if you need to go to the near food shop...? Cold engine - less efficiency, more CO2, harmful impact to the DPF...an so on. The country I live is full with old diesel cars, yesterday my city was in top 10 among the most polluted cities in the world.

PHEV cars are just for manufactures to gain more money from those people, who haven't tried EV, but are afraid of it (range anxiety), so they see the PHEV as a best way for them. Also in many countries PHEV with their co2 < 49g/100km have/had the same or some incentives as EVs and many company cars in Netherlands and UK have chosen them as the best options (e.g., Outlander PHEVs are very popular)

If someone want to drive Electric, need All weel drive and a trailer hitch, dont't want to pay that much for eTron, EQC or iPace and his dayli driving profile matches to a distance of 50km the answer is Outlander PHEV. Otherwise buy a full electric car like eNiro.

Driving EV cars in Portugal is not a solution if you need to do a long trip. And even Tesla have to struggle a little. A good PHEV may be the solution, although I’m not sure that, in a long trip, it would help lower consumption. I have a Volvo V60 T6 with 310 hp and, at legal speed, I could drive 600 kms before I have to fill up again. I driven a Volvo v60 T8 (PHEV) and the range, on the same long trip was the same.

The PHEV even has a charge-mode, which allows to charge the battery full again while driving. Some people claim this makes sense when you drive on country roads up to 100 km/h when the ICE is not fully stressed. And the car has a heat pump, which makes it possible to run the heating even at -10°C without the ICE. I'm sure the XCeed can't do this.
@JanHenrik541
@JanHenrik541 3 жыл бұрын
@@gerbre1 There are no dedicated recharge mode as far as I am aware (Niro owner here). The Kias recharge more aggressively (and I wonder if the regenerative brakes are stronger) in "Sport mode", that way you build up an electric reserve. No heat pump unfortunately.

Hi, I have a KIA CEED PHEV 2022. I'm very disappointed how the hybrid system works. If it low temperature outside (below 10 C) then the petrol engine always starts if the so if im driving under 10km it never runs purly on electricity. Or if the AC is runing the petrol engien starts. So the petrol enginen is always running when heating or cooling... My advise, dont buy a KIA
