For the ones thinking "why I can't bring back my foot", 4:34 Joe brings his knee first, then the foot opening the hip, the second and third are full rotations with the hip open.

Unsolicited tip for Troy in the video. Around 5:30 he foot flops at the very end of the kick on the point of contact. Super simple fix - work flexing and pointing the toes and keeping the foot tight in the air, then move to consciously making sure the foot does not "un-point" on impact. The added concentration on form and technique will help keep better leg control regardless of where you decide to go after the impact of the kick. Great videos and kudos to your assistants for participating and helping you film. Keep up the great work!

since you said you will start with the "strongest" kick i will also share the concept I use for "strongest kick" mainly keeping the heel on the ground because the raised heel creates a spring type of mechanics which keeps the force ( impulse momentum ) from transferring correctly at the moment of impact my point is not that the lifting heel is certainly weak but rather that no matter how strong your kick is with lifting the heel it will be stronger with the more stable structure that keeping the heel on the ground gives
@JDaWall11
@JDaWall11 4 жыл бұрын
Hey question? Regarding the rotation on the lead leg, the heel hitting the ground after the kick making it more difficult to get back into our stance, does that regard hitting a bag or shadow boxing? I find it difficult to snap my leg back into defensive stance while shadow boxing. I’m assuming I need more practice and i really appreciate your guidance. Hope all is well with this isolation thing, thanks for the quarantine exercise it’s made a difference.

Bazooka Joe. I know you advised not to reach when stepping and kicking, you advised us to stand tall and spin around our plant leg. How do you feel about leaning in to a kick though? You're less able to return back to starting stance or adjust in flight kicking this way but, I feel as though you can create a little more force. It makes sense that the idea is a little too complicated to go over in this video. So, it's just a different way to kick (pro's and con's) but would you go as far as saying that you wouldn't recommend it. Thank you as always! Devan Reed - All Around Movement - Dunedin Florida
