I assumed McMeghan's last was Swampert, and when I saw the Mag I spent a solid minute just shaking my head and chuckling. Great replay choice for the topic Edit: the replay also shows there are greater teambuilding sins than running Snorlax!

In baseball, there's a concept of "keeping your opponent honest." Making them play to basic fundamentals. Pitchers making pick off moves on baserunners who take extra large leads. Batters bunting when the defense plays deep. It's about a team trying to edge out an extra advantage that it's up to the opposing team to prevent them from abusing. Rock Slide is Gen 3's "keeping them honest" move.

Gen 8 has a similar principle. Every team needs to have a way to reliably check specs dragapult shadow ball. If your team has no answer to this, any competent player will bowl you over with pult.

BKC, I wanna take the time to appreciate your style of videos. The unscripted free flow infodumps you release are so intricately put together, that I legitimately could listen over and over again. It especially feels nice knowing that you're taking a bathroom break, allowing the audience to process the information you give. Never change, dude.

Wise person of the showdown KZbin channel, we need this to be a philosophy channel with slight hints at Pokémon. Tell me why we're all here while somehow you make it be about how magneton is overrated in ADV OU or something (i dont even know that much about that meta dont take it personally)

its very funny how you can afford to take these kinda risks against good players more often bc those will often try very hard not to depend on a rock slide flinch.

The miss-chance of nearly all physicall offence moves & the low power of them makes physicall offence a bad playstyle. It is quite good in gen 3 Ubers, but that is about it

Rock slide is a healthy gatekeeper. Swampert has probably the most important defensive role in the tier. It's very customizable and is also clearly targetable. May be scrubby but I think it results in much better gameplay than if, say, Milotic or Jirachi was the best defensive Pokemon instead.

@BKCplaysPokemon7 ай бұрын
it wasn't a team posted publicly, just the kind of thing that good players passed among each other, but the specifics aren't really important bc of how many variations it had anyway. I would say lum dd tar and lum mixed metagross (psychic mash fire boom) are the most important bc of how much of a pain willowisp gar is otherwise, and if you use that meta you really have to be careful around opposing dd tar and aero, so a physdef invested lax with counter or brick break is a good idea, maybe hp fighting aero too honestly (you'll have to REALLY be careful around other aero though). the team has good ideas but I wouldn't use it for more than practice now bc it's not quite covering everything the way it needs to. a more modern version would probably use celebi over lax and then a lefties meta which frees you up a lot
