@@KingRaatz Still better than the one move dragon gets in dragon rage, that does set damage, so the type doesn't matter. Dragon being weak to itself literally doesn't matter because of this. Ghost gets Lick (base 20 power, and bugged, so psychic is immune to it) and Night shade, which is pretty good but is also basically typeless as a set damage move. Bug at least gets 3 moves.(Pin missile, Twinneedle and Leech life). Leech life is base 20 power, and the other two are exclusive to Beedrill (and Jolteon for pin missile). Rock slide alone outclass everything these three types can do. Rock throw however is impressively awful. (I still think that Razor wind is even more bafflingly bad).

I felt the Fossil pokes were only "rock" type BECAUSE they had been resurrected from Fossils. So in its heyday Aerodactyle would have been pure flying or maybe even normal flying (the Pigeot of it's time). Naturally for STAB and type balance it should totes have a rock move but just my 2 cents

8:02 - The thing is, if you could use Fly, you wouldnt be taking damage in between hits, because you are up in the air. So even if it is a 2 turn move, you only take damage after you hit with Fly. Assuming Erica uses a Super Potion on Victreebel, you would defeat it with 2 Fly's.

Lance's Aero only needs one turn to end you (especially given that it comes out fourth, after the Gyarados and Dragonair have worn you down). Yours needs to get through an entire team.

This series has made me realize something important about Gen 1. Very strong stats will carry pretty much any pokemon through the "regular season", but the best pokemon are the ones that have good moves against the elite 4. Move selection is so important in this game, it's insane.

Man, Aerodactyl would have been so good in Gen 1 if it had Rock Slide, Earthquake, and decent Flying STAB. In Blue Kaizo, it gets those and Sky Attack was turned into a 1-turn move, making it probably the best pokemon in the game short of Mewtwo.

Water Gun and Water Gun are both good moves for the earlygame, but Sky Attack against Misty might leave us weak to water attacks in return with our poor defenses.

@@Hadaron Don't you get Mega punch before Misty? Seismic toss is another option. Also due to how MissingNo's stats are distributed, you might actually deal more damage to Geodude/Onix with sky attack, rather than both of your water guns.

@@simonteesdale9752 I didn’t realize that MissingNo. could even learn any TMs, so thanks for that helpful tidbit! I would highly suggest against Sky Attack against Brock. Depending on if we’re ‘M or Missingno., our special will either be 29 or 6 respectively, but either way our defense will be a pitiful zero. Combining that with our base 33 HP means we won’t survive hits from Brock’s Pokemon. Plus, sky attack will do half damage and water gun 4x damage, meaning that in the two turns it would take to use Sky Attack, we could hit two 4x water guns, targeting geodude and onix’s weak specials in return.

It isn't that unrealistic really. Jrose has mentioned before That thanks to speed up he can complete good runs in under an hour of real time so if he focused on one's that would be easier like say Starmie or a number of the other water types he hasn't used yet he could get a nice backlog. Plus there is nothing saying ALL of the videos will be challenge videos. While that is mostly all he does any more he might use this as a chance to upload other things he might want to do like top 10s and other such videos.

Kabuto will be a struggle early game, starts with Scratch and Harden and doesn't get anything good until the Bubblebeam TM. Kabutops on the other hand gets absorb for some reason, which is embarrassingly weak but atleast should get it passed Brock.

Welcome back man! Nice to see some Gen I hyperbeam action! I know its too prohibitively expensive to use in most runs. That movepool was brutal. Can't believe it doesn't get Rock Slide! I thought you were sleeping on Bite on this run with it being a physical move with a flinch chance, but just looked it up and it only had a 10% flinch chance until gen 2! The more you know. Slow growth rate and such a shallow movepool was rough! I thought an early Hyper Beam or Double Edge might have helped with the KO ranges on some of those midgame battles (you can get Double Edge in Celadon) - but one is prohibitively expensive and one is only 100BP (until gen II) and recoil dealing only a sliver more than STAB fly with 70BP. Just really rough all around.
