This treatment is actually really good for your hair. Also for those saying that she did way too many passes with the flat irons, this treatment needs at least 7-9 passes for it to work effectively. It may look and sound like a lot but thats part of the treatment.

Yea but then if your hair is naturally curly and you get this you can get heat damage so then your hair is curly at the roots and straight at the ends and it doesn't look nice :/ you never know you have heat damage until later on.

I have been doing Keratin treatments every 6 months for about 3-4 years and my hair had not broken or gotten fine. It has grown a lot on length and gotten much stronger. But, they always said at my salon that they have to flat iron it totally straight until the next wash, no curls at the end so that it takes more. Never had it curled. Thanks for showing that I can work that was as well. I just think they charge excessive to apply the treatment.

You guys... the keratin treatment is called a treatment for a reason. It's actually really healthy for the hair. there are no chemicals in it and the reason why there was so much steam coming from the flat iron wasn't from her hair burning, its because of the keratin product itself. It's not burning her hair at all!

It contains chemicals. Most Keratin treatments contain formaldehyde which in conjunction with heat causes respiratory problems. Thats why you have to blow dry in a well ventilated area. Not all treatments are good for hair. You should do a bit of research on keratin treatments before you make such a statement.
@onetreehillforeverr
@onetreehillforeverr 10 жыл бұрын
Yes, my mistake. it does contain chemicals, also once again, situations like having respiratory problems and such don't happen unless you're using the product daily. this treatment isn't bad for your hair. I've done my research I'm a licensed cosmetologist thank you.
@shanshanshan23
@shanshanshan23 10 жыл бұрын
Theresa Jajou Many people have used it and it changed their hair for the worst. It's protein yes, but many people are protein sensitive and so are subject to damaged hair. Many products used contain formaldehyde yes, but the concentration in keratin treatments tend to be higher due to the fact that these products dont have to be approved by the FDA or other such organizations, and more formaldehyde equals longer lasting results. Tons of hair dressers have complained about nosebleeds or problems breathing. What about them? Just cause we're not exposed to it on a regular basis doesn't mean others aren't

OMG...I've been doing brazilian straightening for almost three years and the questions in this case are: When exactly do you remove the product from the hair (rinse or wash)? Why do so many passes near the root and so few in the tip of the hair? You know that even if you iron giving a style, when you wash your hair it will be straight and it will loose the style, right? You can't leave this products after you finish the ironing, otherwise you are using products that are dangerous for your health

I've had the Brazilian Blowout and my hair was healthier than ever after the procedure. Before the blowout my hair suffered lots of breakage and I routinely use phosphate and sulfate free shampoo products. After the blowout my hair was healthier than ever; I had no breakage!! Yes,I have to admit watching the video is a bit unsettling, but the effects on my hair were positive. It's been over a couple years since I've had the blowout. I haven't lost my hair, but it's back to the same ol' breakage.

Well everyone I've been doing here for 30 years and I've been doing keratin before probably at least 10. When we were trained by the company and taught extensive education about what it is and how it works we were all very impressed. And it didn't do wonders for the hair. But I suggest that you look up the hundreds of lawsuits against these companies because they are lying about what is in the actual bottle of keratin. They are now being sued by multiple people hairdressers clients. Ingredients in it are extremely caustic for the hairdresser to breathe and the client but especially the hairdresser because we are doing this more often. I would like to know how many hair stylist have had any kind of side effects including burning eyes burning throat feeling sick afterwards. Please let me know it is not worth our health 2 please in the name of beauty

@emhel2013
@emhel2013 8 жыл бұрын
Being a hairdresser, and in the business for more than 15 years, Japanese thermal hair straightening is much better than this Brazilian way of straightening the hair .Japanese thermal straight is much softer and shinier and will last longer specially when you know how to care your hair by using conditioner all day and a weekly protein treatment of the hair to maintain its luster and moisture. Brazilian straight is lifeless ,dry and it looks coarser. The only thing in comparison between the 2 straightener( in terms of usage) is Japanese thermal straightener cant be used on previously colored( less than 4- 6 months)/ straightened (lye content) hair, while brazilian straightener can be used on colored treated hair .Normally hair ends will get damaged and dry after the procedure so you have to cut it off. Good results also depends on the person who is doing the procedure and their expertise of knowing the hair structure before doing it.

I have several problems with this video. First and foremost, there is no conditioner involved. There is no way that her hair could not be damaged in some way because of that. Secondly, when her hair is being blown dry, the way she is brushing through it is a good way to encourage breakage and split ends. Lastly, hair burns at 451* F. Flat ironing her hair at 450* was a bit high. I understand the results looked nice, but at what cost to the health of the hair?

I’m brazilian and I find it kind of amusing how our hair straightening process has become so popular in the us. Everyone here knows how damaging that thing is for your hair and health. They all have formol or some kind of chemical in that same category that can make your hair straight but give you a lot of problems in the future, including the possibility of cancer. In the beginning you love it because it makes your hair straight, shiny and easy to manage BUT with time it leaves your hair very weak, thin and dry. A lot of girls here have to go through hair transition after what you guys call “keratin treatment”. It has bad chemicals, damages your hair and i read that the american health organizations are trying to ban ir from America cause of the dangers, just like they did in Europe. Still, brazilian women still do it a lot, and their hair gets fucked. Just a tip

gabss lima hmmm, the brazillian blowout and keratin treatments did not originate in Brazil, first of all, and as someone who has had this done for 5 years in europe, I can also say it’s definitely not illegal. Also my hair is healthy and shiny, so is the hair of all my friends who had keratin treatments at different salons.

Mine was lower couldnt remember but 300 >, less than 400 degrees. Had it done over a month now my hair is still so much easier to manage only thing is my fringe is kinda flat, just that slight 2cm fringe part. My hair is layered and i am one who doesnt really do much to my hair thats why i chose this treatment. should always consult ur hairdresser 1st.

reyhan pitallar you should find a hairdresser that is very experienced in it and has been doing it for a long time. i have mine done 1-2 times a year with my hairdresser who's being doing it for 14 years , its not a relaxer, its a progressiver and it has helped my hair grow . also its not permanent and eventually washes out. i don't think this treatment is for everyone as some people have negative comments about it but i like it, it works for me, i personally think its safe and my hairdresser says its safe and she does it on her daughters hair as well. one think i have noticed is it has changed my curl pattern and made them looser which for some people could be a problem but i never liked the way my curls looked on me and never wore my hair curly. do some research, although their will be a lot of negative buzz around it, but most importantly speak to a professional. hope this has helped

Keratin is what your hairs made of. Therefore the average iron to flat iron your hair is approximately 425 degrees. Therefore when you apply the keratin and it must be fused into the hair... As far as the idiot remarks about people I've seen I would imagine you go to your local Kmart or Walmart and buy a somewhat less expensive shampoo what you don't know is that you're ruining your hair because of sulfates so don't laugh too loud. Just another professional

Ayeisha, is not the heat more or so, is the repetition...the times you pass the iron on the hair. If you want the keratin treatment to last, you should pass the flat iron on each section 8-9 times from root to mid and about 5 times from mid to ends. If you want it to be less I guess you would do it less times. This would be recommended for those who don't want too much damage or too much straightening effect or the treatment to last less.

+Creagination Time Thats why they tell you to flat iron your hair 2 times the first 3/4 days until you shower, to lock the keratin in. Also the more you flat iron the better. And you have to use a shampoo/conditioner without sulfate, or it´ll ruin the keratin.

Keratin is a natural protein that is present in our hair, skin and nails. We lose this by washing our hair and via products and dying etc. keratin infusion puts back that keratin where it was lost hence repairing damaged breaking hair. It makes your hair shiny and smooth, also the heat coming out from the flat iron is the seal the hair, if your hair doesn't steam when u flat iron, the products you use are not natural.

It's not banned in Canada. I live in Toronto. I know someone who was getting it done regularly by her hair dresser, until her hair started breaking severely and it started falling out in PATCHES!!! It's up to the discretion of the hair dresser whether they decide to offer this treatment

Nope. The keratin is a major protector. Which is the whole point of this treatment. The heat will do nothing.
@natatm7c
@natatm7c 8 жыл бұрын
+Sydney Turner the heat does damage it. For the protein from the treatment to stick and bond to the protein in the hair, the flat iron heats BOTH proteins to somewhat melt them together. If the heat fom the flat iron doesn't do anything to the real protein of the hair, the treatment would wash out and not last like 3 months. That's why when you stop getting this "treatment" your hair will be more damaged than before

Zi' neb Heat damages hair, that's a fact. A strand of hair being put between a high temperature flat iron multiple times it's going to get more porous and rough than before. And hair being healthy and silky it's subjective, maybe if I saw and felt your hair I wouldn't say the same. If you have done the treatment just 1 time then the damage it's not easily noticeable, but if you repeatedly get it done the accumulative heat damage would be definitely be felt on the hair. This treatment reduces frizz and makes hair more manageable for a few months, but it comes with the price that when the fake keratin washes out, your real hair is more rough than before. But if you feel that after getting this your hair is more silky and healthy after a year, then get it done more often love, but beware of the cancerogenic ingredients. Take care xo
