Love the variety of landscapes you have over there in North America. We have nice forrests and mountains in Europe, but we definitely miss some of these awesome, wide landscapes..sometimes almost looks unreal for a European. Can't wait until I can afford to come over there and ride my Mtb, I am planning for two trips, one in Colorado and one in Utah (and maybe as a bonus up to Whistlers)
@HollyBoni3 жыл бұрын
Well, if you live somewhere in central Europe and you want to see desert landscapes, you can hop on a dirt cheap flight and go to somewhere like Morocco or Turkey (and also experience a completely different culture). It's actually about the same or even less distance if let's say you lived in New York and wanted to go to Utah. 🙂 I see these videos and sometimes I also envy the terrain in the US, but I always forget that even tho it's one country it's a pretty damn big place, and sometimes going from one state to another state is like going from one end of Europe to the other end of Europe...
@jochemmecking35343 жыл бұрын
@@HollyBoni this is so true, the scale ie just so mudh bugger in the states. I've heard from an American friend if mine Americans drive eight hours for just a weekend in the mountains. That's crazy to me. If I'm driging 8 hours I'm at least staying a week!

Ha! Missed ya by a couple weeks. Great ride, very challenging. Hit this about a week ago. 2 of us arrived at the southern most end of the loop looking south off the Mesa. There was a couple taking a break. The gal that was there was riding a brand new Ibis Ripley. Found out she was 60 years old. During our chat she commented, I don’t Huck air anymore like I used too. WHAAAA!?!? Awesome chat and again great ride out there. Love the vids, keep up the good work and commentary!

Hey Brian - come back to NM, plenty of crazy good riding that you didn't get to try out. Just gotta come out late enough in the season so you can do some high elevation stuff.

I know you don't comment on the comments, but if you read them, you might try upping your ISO a little on your footage with the 9. it seemed like the overall brightness was a little low in several places on this one. But other than that.....looked like a blast, and it's always fun to see how your technical climbing skills are always up to the level, or beyond it, of the riders you ride with. It's not something most new riders care anything about learning, but I LOVE that stuff! Looking forward to where your adventures take you, and secretly....I hope one of them is here in NW Arkansas, and especially now that Little Rock is getting into the fray, and you've never ridden anything down in the Hot Springs area, where there are tons of trails as well.

Another great Mesa ride in SW Utah. That cone-shaped mountain seen in many shots is an ancient volcano and the lighter rock layers high up in the distance is Zion National park. If you ride in the spring, bring some bug spray, I was overwhelmed with gnats during my ride. The bites turned into itchy little blisters that oozed all over the motel sheets the next couple of nights...gross.

Brian. We have still lockdown here. Unable to travel, I have to work and take care of my wife and 3 daughters. Is maybe hard to understand from your bubble (single, "childless", no day job), but is not easy! Oh and I ride MTB 8 000km / year and I always search for new places (close or distant). But not always is so easy ... go and ride. Sometimes other factors are stronger and I have to wait till I will be able to ride something new!

I have a love/hate relationship with that ride. It was BEAUTIFUL and fun, but I found trail finding pretty difficult. I didn't allow enough time for the ride and almost had to spend the night out on the mesa. I got pretty lucky I was able to follow the lights of nearby campers, and didn't fall off the mesa in the dark! Traumatic.

You’d better come to the Sedona/Flagstaff area. We can easily fill a month with great rides, as you no doubt know. The Sedona MTB Festival is being rescheduled for Nov, 12-14, which is a great time for Sedona. I’d suggest starting your month in the flagstaff region with the changing of the Aspen leaves in flagstaff, and working your way to Sedona, and ending with the festival. It would be a rad trip 👌 Even better, the northern half of The Arizona Trail is some world class bike packing, and October is perfect for it. So perhaps a week or two riding the AZT mogollon rim to the Grand Canyon, followed by a week in flagstaff, and a week or two in Sedona ending with the Festival at peak fitness. 🤯
