@Marzapane This is very much the case. If you know one Romance language, you have a good idea what the others are about when presented with a text or conversation. I'm B2 level in Spanish and once I master it, I'm not going to bother with another Romance language- it'd be pointless and not very challenging.

I would agree with you if it was 1,999 but in 2023. Many of us are trilingual or more. I speak 3 languages fluently and I’ve met many people that can speak 5 fluently. I’ve gone to over 30 countries but some people have gone to over 90. In this day and age, there are many impressive individuals. There are polyglots on KZbin that can speak 7-8 languages easy and fluently. There are so many talented individuals in this world

It's sad. But some people will never experience fluency in any language. This is because they only speak very poor dialect with not enough lexic to build a "complex" sentence and therefore it can't be used in every day life. Combine that with lack of access to education and impossibility to learn another language. And that is the result. People living in a limbo that can not express themselves in neither language.

In ways there is more lexical similarity between Italian and Portuguese than either with Spanish. 'Pronto' means ready in both but in Spanish it means soon; in Spanish ready is 'listo'. Eu posso escriver em espanhol e entenderá muito melhor (sorry for my writing, idk how to write in portuguese, it was a try).

Keep going!

Agree. London is not aestetically nice at all. It's quite mediocre. London is nice for the atmosphere, not for the beauty. Not only, out of zone 1 and 2 London is a huge slum.
@mattc9875
@mattc9875 Жыл бұрын
To be honest Milan isn't that beautiful at all outside the city center and few other areas like Parco Sempione, Navigli and C.so Garibaldi. Bunch of old ugly buildings from the 70s and 80s with nasty projects like the Ghisolfa bridge built inches from people's balconies and graffitis all around mixing up with the grey sad vibes of the real city, where most people live. It used to be MUCH nicer and cleaner in the 90s even without those silly few mid-sized skycrapers randomly built in the past decade. The city itself with the crappy wheater and fog is very comparable to London indeed, only that London is way ahead of Milan although most who live in Milan think it's number one on the map 😂 (because outside Milan, in Italy, there's basically nothing in terms of job opportunities and eonomic growth - both of which have left Milan as well long ago). Born and raised in Milan - zona Piazzale Istria - but everyone sees it differently and pride takes its toll when you live there...gotta like it or you gotta leave it asap, which is what literally thousands have done lately. I would say I met very few who would disagree when taken in all honesty...cheers from the 305

You're one of the very few youtube polyglots who can actually hold a solid conversation in the languages you claim to speak. The rest just repeat the same memorized phrases over and over with new people. Of course there were some mistakes here and there( in Croatian, Swedish, Russian,etc as well from your previous vids) but overall B2+ level of fluency.

Well yeah, that's because that hand gesture specifically means things like ''what are you talking about?''', ''what do you want?'' and other similar sentences. Apparently many americans do indeed think it's something italians do at random, but it literally is an ausiliary form of body language that is (often unconsciously) added to the verbal language itself. p.s.

That's obviously because he went to Milan pal. Had he gone to Naples or Palermo, just to name two cities, it would have been much closer to those expectations. Italians in the US have mostly Southern origin so their cultural features have a clear root in there. Basta andare nelle periferie di Milano per vedere gente che gesticola e parla come il tipo di NY all'inizio del video...let's just be honest and put pride aside, there's nothing negative about it anyway and we are all very much appreciated as a culture abroad.

That's cause they're Northerners. When I was just in the airport in Rome, one of the assistance people started singing Nessun Dorma. I asked him if he was from Napoli. He said no, Rome. But we Meridionale do still use our hands and sing. It's lovely and I hope we never stop. I've seen the cultural riches of the North, e basta! I don't go north of Rome anymore and that's only because of the airport and a Neapolitan cousin who now lives there.
