FYI: Black Box Chronicles is available in hardcover format through the Magnetic Press store as a stand-alone or in the slipcase format with the Design Space hardcover. Through regular distribution, you can get the Black Box Chronicles as a beautiful TPB with curved corners, along with the hardcover of Design Space. And yes, there is a LOT more Black Box Chronicles in the works! :D

$30 extra for the box seems steep since both books can be bought individually

Though, you can't get the HC of Black Box at retail (unless that LCS backed through the retailer tier), only the HC of Design Space is available through retail. You also get the signed/numbered card along with the slipcase. But if you're good with the TPB (which is still amazing), then yes, save some money!
