There is a better one from Antiquities called Gate to Phyrexia: 4B: Enchantment: At the beginning of your upkeep, you may sacrifice an artifact. If you do, destroy target artifact. Problem is that one is 50 dollars

@@tsp1999 Its sacrifice a Creature to destroy an artifact, not another artifact. As useful as having it is, I'm still pretty sure I've blown up more artifacts with Nev Disk than Gate. Also, Gate is only around half that price currently, although most copies are MP at best nowadays. I definitely didn't pay 50 for mine.

The Smash Project gate to phyrexia is BB and requires you to sacrifice a creature at your upkeep to gain its effect. And the other spell is Phyrexian Tribute which is a sorcery for 2B which requires you to sacrifice 2 creatures to destroy 1 artifact.

Note: just because it’s in the command zone all game doesn’t mean it’s better, smokestacks can be run in any deck, oh, and there’s this thing black has: it’s called a tutor. Like 30 of them. 10-ish of them are really good. Also, smokestacks is more than 1 permanent per upkeep. And worb and tangle wire exist. Better stax already exists

Chainer is my favorite paper deck. looping the mindslicer is the best feeling. But also have you felt the groan of the gary or kokusho loop? doesn't matter its not technically infinite, usually it is still large enough to create a life swing that generally ends the game.

6:19 4 player game, my friend was playing a token deck I think, he played Josu, kicked him, was about to win by killing us all with those tokens, no cards in our hands, single digit life totals for all of us, I drew Extinction named knights just to be safe, and blew up his tokens, Josu and some other knight tokens that were hanging around. Token dude was screaming, one of my friends fell out of his seat laughing, other friend gets up and starts parading like his life was saved. Best top deck of my life.

I tried Son of Yawgmoth once and it didn't go well because I felt like I was building too generic. Including too much but focusing on nothing. But watching this made me realize something; Pick a commander that does a specific thing. Then build around that thing. I realize that sounds like a n00b realization, but sometimes I just get ahead of myself and lose track of the core ideas ya know? Mono colored decks are fun because you're never color screwed and land ratios are easy.

Turn my Mirage Mirror into Korlash, bin original Korlash, Phyrexian Reclamation him into my hand, discard get Swamps, drain with Dread Presence or Ob Nix, rinse repeat. I understand if the automatic assumption is no because its not a thing you can do with blue or red, but with White, Green, or Black you can make Grandeur work. For Black With Korlash: Step 0: Have a sac outlet, a amulet of vigor, a phyrexian reclamation, and a helm of the host and korlash in play Step 1: equip him a helm of the host Step 2: make a nonlegnedary token of him Step 3: Sac the original Step 4: Use Phyrexian Reclamation to return the original to your hand Step 5: Discard original for grandeur effect Step 6: Search your library for two swamps, they enter play untapped thanks to amulet of vigor Step 7: Rinse repeat as you only pay 2 life per activation so you can have all the swamps in play. Green and black behave in a "combo" matter White behaves in a "grindy value" matter. :)

I agree with you on braid's. It's a stacks piece in the commander zone. This means most casual players will just not play it. And if they do it's been okayed by their play group. I play casual, but have friends that play CEDH and I have always wanted to make her, just to kill the fun for a game. If you get her out on turn 1-2 everyone is just like okay next game.

He Who Hungers is an underrated gem: First of all: Scrifice a Spirit, any spirit, even himself. Remember, this card has soulshift 4, which means whenever it dies you get a Spirit with converted mana cost 4 or less. Second Thing: YOU CAN PICK ANY CARD FROM YOUR OPPONENTS HAND! Which means LANDS also. With the right set of cards, if you have the early game in a 1v1 situation, IT'S GAME FREAKING OVER. This commander will literally haunt you in your freaking dreams. Also Shirei: it's so deceptively powerful, everyone in your playgroup will think you are stupid, running all the meekest stuff you can possibly imagine, until you pull out a Blood Artist turn, then you will enjoy their faces contorting from the effort of constraining themselves to NOT flip the table because they run freaking Narset extra turn with sleeved 100$ cards, while you, nosepicker Billy, run freaking Perilous Myr which costs 0,1$ and other janky shit. STONKS.

The problem with braids is that with fast mana it can lock opponents out of the game. This can be especially oppressive. Suppose an opponent goes first, and gets Braids out on turn 2 with Sol Ring. Then they play something like reassembling skeleton. A lot of decks are completely locked out as they can only play one land until braids is gone. Then noone else gets to play magic until someone draws a one mana removal spell. Then the Braids player just casts it again.
