I live in a country in South America, the only English speaking one. 70% of the East Indians are absolutely racist, 15% associate with the Blacks in churches and other capacity. However, their racism is just below the surface. Then, another 10% married to Blacks and have mixed children. They are not as racist. However, they do not approve of their children marrying Black men or Black women. They prefer their children to marry anyone else, even mixed person, not Black. The 5% a re not racist.

Stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel when in India, no air bnb. Taj Mahal palace hotel or any Taj property is highly recommended in Mumbai, New Deli, etc. N I say this because 5 star hotels are affordable there (at least it was when I visited). Everything in general is affordable in India. South Africa is much more expensive destination. Don't eat street food or drink tap water because that's for locals cooking and local diet standards. Eat at good the best restaurants and drink bottled water. I would also suggest not wearing any outfit that doesn't look like normal for local society. This rule applies to all countries including those who come to the USA.

I would say "Not all Indians are racist" but that is a waste coz even one incident is too much. I always thought Indians in Africa and Caribbean love and accept Africans as brothers but i was wrong there too! While i was studying in college, we had a few Nigerian students and we became friends with them and they even became fluent in Hindi and Marathi when they left to go back to Nigeria. @@blackman4life l don't think it's BP on the whole allowing themselves to be disrespected - this is enabled by the lack of leadership because l don't call a lot of the people who are suppose to be running the African countries leaders, rather puppets. They encourage the disrespect, by other groups, of their citizens. Strong leadership such as those of AES foster unity of their citizens and patriotism, which in turn leads to citizens having pride for themselves, their country and not putting up with BS from other groups. From what l gather, Ruto favours them a lot - there was a video footage l saw of him standing with one of them, a prominent businessman, with Ruto stating: 'he's my boss,' so that explains a lot!

I am from Indian descendance, 4 th generation Indian immigrants to the Caribbean. I am so sorry you felt that way it should be a awfull feeling thank God you are all save back. Things happened for a reason. I have been to India, but like a diplomat not a visitor, reasons why I had a certain immunity. The truth is that the same is happening with Indian people in Africa according to literatures. The toughts behind this is that we are not adapted and open from both sides to each other culture , tradition and religion. And that can be awfull sometimes. In the Caribbean, we have been integrated, black people and Indians love each other but exeptions and orthodox approaches and doctrines are everywhere, dont close your eyes for those but still than dont generalize. Black People should not live or stick together because nobody accept them. Its a curse and lie of the devil to keep you away from one another. Glad my mum and I were well taken care of when in India. I took my mum for treatment and they were all so nice and helpful. It was in Ahmedabad but I wouldn’t have visited willingly if it wasn’t for the treatment… It’s not a place to visit just like that.

I spent 6 months in India/Nepal many years ago (1998-99). And I didnt get much attitude but there were moments that were frustrating. But overall it was an amazing experience. Indians are like anybody else. Some good, some assholes, and most somewhere in between. Would I go again? No. But I'm glad I did. You have to get out of the big cities and explore...

I went to Mumbai in 2022 as a solo Black woman traveler. I flew to Mumbai from the Maldives, so no issues on the plane (flew business). I could see how you would have this experience there, my main issue was the staring in certain places. Even though the staring was annoying, and people wanting pictures, others would smile or waive...being friendly (one little girl so cute and wondering why I didn't speak Marathi lol). I used private drivers and I stayed at the Four Seasons and 5 star hotels. My overall experience was pleasant and they gave me all types of free stuff, and were super pleasant. My exposure to the general population was limited because of where I stayed and how I moved around. I did take a few Ubers with no problems as well. In the 5 star hotels, restaurants and upscale spaces - they won't stare (as much), etc., it's a different experience. Again, not to negate this experience because everything said exists for sure. I visited the popular slum there, the flower market and other markets and it is A LOT to take in. As a solo Black woman traveler, I've learned there are certain places where I ensure I move in certain ways to have the experience that I want/deserve and avoid things I'd rather not see/deal with.
