+TheHiveLeader Just for clari, Hive, the game's cash shop is not as p2w as it seems. The XP bonus from a full set of cosmetics is relatively small (10%), the jump height is a negligibly small amount, and the Luck can be obtained from gaining titles, wearing certain gems, and gaining titles. The only OPd thing really is the Ghillie suit (which allows you to move full speed while obscuring your name) and the Fishing suit (grants a large bonus to fishing speed and swimming speed). Still, these benefits are on the relatively minor p2w side.

Weather cycles are always awesome. The thunder storms in FFXIV:ARR sounded phenomenal. Any time I entered a zone with a thunderstorm happening I'd stop what I was doing and just sit & listen.

I've leveled mainly by harvesting actually and not by grinding. You mainly get skill and contribution through quests and skill points through grinding. So don't be shy to harvest or craft!

I love the mechanics, love the combos, but so far I've come up against nothing that can be even remotely challlenging, even those summonable bosses. No - not trying to pat myself on the back, just wishing it was harder so that I can actually utilize all the combos and skills at my disposal. I'm also worried that endgame is all about pvp. I hate pvp. I sometimes literally get physically ill while playing pvp games. If that's all there is to look forward to at max level, then I just don't know if I can keep going.

As a pvper / player of bdo / competitive casual player(our guild sieges every week) / etc. and a player who has dropped over 5k on games to pay to win(never die, can't kill, oneshot other players bosses etc), the game isn't "Pay to WIn". At the end of the day, it's more of a cash milking system than a p2w system. Buying silver doesn't make it any easier to get a pen item than before. This is coming from a player who has invested over 1.5b into a damn yuria staff. It's still duo, by the way. So until they implement a way for me to get pen gear instantly and without relying on other players.... I won't consider it p2w.

You should have hit soft level cap before making this video. If u did, you would know how furstraiting exping after that is. You can't exp before there are higher lvls that keep killing you and you can't kill them becouse you are low level. There rly isn't much to do in the game what soever.

It has some interesting elements but I honestly have never felt called to play this game. Part of it is because I don't like eastern MMOs but part of it is also how both The Elder Scrolls Online (best MMO ever designed IMO) and Guild Wars 2 (close second) get so much right, I have no real motivation to give this game a try. Plus, if we're being fair, GW2 was the game that gave me that "second chance" experience as BDO did for you; my first MMO was RuneScape back in 2004 and while I had given other MMOs like EverQuest 2 and LOTRO a chance, neither really gave me that amazing feeling that RuneScape did. ESO gave me a similar feeling to that, but I think the reason GW2 did it more was because of two things: 1) GW2 was the first 'modern', AAA MMO I had ever played, I didn't get ESO until Tamriel Unlimited as I couldn't afford the subscription fee. 2) Unlike ESO, both RuneScape and Guild Wars 2 are relatively light-hearted story- and setting-wise. ESO takes a MUCH more serious tone and while Tamriel is, by far, my favorite fantasy world ever, Gielinor and Tyria both have this light-hearted feel that feels very home-like. I go to ESO when I want immersion and fun in an immersive way. I go to RS or GW2 when I want just a light-hearted, relaxing type of fun. Anyways, back to BDO: if they had a small trial where I don't have to pay for a game I probably won't enjoy, I'd give it a go and see if I like it, but yeah.. I'm not paying full price for a game that I probably won't enjoy. And honestly, as far as graphics go, I'd say ESO looks a little better (ESO is the most beautiful MMO out there IMO) and GW2 is about on-par with them. They use some clever tricks to make it look nicer than it is, though, I have to give them that.

We have dungeons as of today's patch I believe, either way we will get dungeons sometime soon. There are 3 in Korea I believe ^^ Also maybe you should mention that you can revive your horse no problem. Luckily, because a lot of time can be spent leveling and training horses >_

Thanks for the info, i'm eager to try it out when i get a PC upgrade, but the fishing kind of disappointed me. One of my first MMO fishing experiences was in Lineage 2, on which you had to learn/upgrade/get proper gear in order to do it nicely. You also had to play a little minigame in order to get the fish out of the water, it was nice and fun, not to mention that it made me HATE afk fishing (and Trove's simplified fishing system.) Btw, i love fishing.

+KASUwonderlandOnline most of the things you described are in fishing in Black desert. This is a very cursory overview if you normal fish you have to play a minigame to get the fish once you hook a fish, if you afk fish you wait 3 minutes after hooking the fish to automatically pull it in. They did this because fishing is one of the few things that your workers really can't do for you so they gave you a afk option but its far less efficient. As you level fishing you can unlock costumes that give you fishing bonuses, you also craft different kinds of rods and another costume that change the results of your fishing. Also when you get higher up you get to use the harpoon (different minigame) with witch you can catch far better fish. I probably just covered only 10% of fishing in this post so that shows you there is alot more to figure out ranging from hot spots to resources, check it out if you like fishing because its the best game for it in a long time.

Letteng your workers doing the gathering is correct, but if you really want to go full Trading you will do processing yourself. Like in most sandbox games you can do and be "everything" i mean you can be a horse or pet breeder :D

Man, I've been really loving BDO, but my huge issue with it right now is that no matter how much I progress, and no matter how much I upgrade my gear... I will always look like a level 1-10 peasant farmer. Like, really? Cash shop is legitimately the only way to not look like you've just stumbled upon an island after your ship has been wrecked. And even WITH the cash shop, it doesn't contain any set I really like! The one you use is all right, but it's not *really* a look I want to commit to; Which I'd have to because they're figgin' expensive.

friend and I started playing, lost interest 5 hours in because its a steaming hot mess. We watched lots of videos and eere excited about some things... until we realized that they would not hold our interest :( combat was kinda cool... but... WE NEED NUMBERS DAMIT! We like to theory craft and figure out why we want some kind of stat and what it does specifically, and we dont get that :( we also didnt like the grind only system. quests may be old school but there are many different types that give you options on your way to level cap. guess Ill be staying with ffxiv... had no reason to look away from that beauty anyway :D

It's not that it was too bard of a game, infact its excruciatingly easy for PvE, it's that I have no incentive to learn about my class. Everyone will just look up guides on their class and run the same button combo over and over, with the victor being he with the higher +# gear. You have your AP and your DP... and you are done. Sorry, but that is not enough for me. Also if you don't have the Holy Trinity (Healer, Tank, DPS), I don't find it interesting or fun.

Btw for anyone still checking this out and seeing all the p2w comments..., trust me as an avid pvper it's not p2w. Let me explain. Remember that cash shop? Yeah you can now sell items (costumes mainly) from it on the ingame marketplace for ingame silver. Sounds like the definition of p2w? True but hear me out. One costume that will make you roughly 20 million silver costs 30$. You can sell a max of 5 of these each week. So roughly 100 mil silver for 150$ each week. 100 mil sounds like a lot right? Nope it isn't. A tri liverto blade costs roughly 300 mil on the market. This is the ENTRY level weapon you want for pvp. Before you have one of those you can forget pvp. And even then it's not even really good, it's average for pvp at most. And that's just the weapon. You will need 4 armor pieces, a secondary, gems and 6 accessories that all are in a similar price range. And most of the good endgame items you want usually are not on the marketplace so you have to get them yourself via playing. But just in theory sometimes there happens to be a tet kzarka weapon on the market that no one buys because it's so damn expensive. This is an endgame weapon. With this one you are pretty much set. It costs roughly 1.4 billion? So you would have to sell costumes for 14 weeks and spend 2100$(!!!!!) on this weapon. Only very very very few whales can afford this and it will still take a lot of time and they are still left by the mercy of the marketplace. There is nothing you can't acquire that people who pay money can. It's really just a way to earn some money by the side. Plus if you did not already understand it, this all means that you can now buy costumes for ingame silver from the marketplace. So you no longer are required to pay 20-30$ for a good looking costume. Oh and one last anecdote why it's not p2w. I usually make 50 mil a week. And that is actually really low money just because i don't grind much. Most people who play active make at least 100 mil a week.

To most old school MMO users, it's the best PvE we can get. Nowadays it's all about quest grinding themeparks, but grinding mobs was really great too, it gave you options about where to farm depending on how you want to progress, and you had to explore. Doing quests means to follow a linear path that will always be the same for everyone else. Imagine that you want to try another character, you'll have to repeat the same quests all over again. Instead on a nice mob grinding system, you'll have to find the best spot for your build/class, see new places, check the drop of different mobs, progress differently. I'm not saying that the PvE is good only because it's grindy, but i'm sure it's better than B&S.

Never played wow but I have played EQ for a decade. I don't play games to amuse myself I play them because they amuse me. That's how far we've fallen. You are willing to put money toward a developer who has made you believe that amusing yourself and paying for it is the next best thing. Very sad.
