There should be some data recovery companies around you. I am in the US and there are 2 companies near my house doing this for everyone but not 100% recoverable, at least some or most, it depends on how much damage on the hard drive.
@claireskrine48372 жыл бұрын
Could I suggest that once you get your data recovered (seems to be a lot of offers of help below!) that you investigate getting a business app that does bookings, contacts and invoicing? I don't have a recommendation but I know there's loads of stuff out there. It would have the advantage of either being hosted elsewhere, or be a separate app on your computer that isn't at risk of getting deleted with other files (very easily done). Glad your foot is on the mend.

Hay Sid, I’m booked in for next week full driveway, rear garden and roof clean and you quoted £200… Believe that then I have a bridge I wanna sell you as well lol 😂. Here is something I never told you back in 1989/90 I was working as a property maintenance technician (Carpenter multi trade), whilst I was working in the rear of the property in the kitchen fitting some units the chap next door had someone show up and jet wash with a Karcher domestic jet washer all the slabs in his back garden. I asked the chap who done the job to people actually pay you to do this to which she replied yes I get quite a good living out of it, it occurred to me now that if I’d of looked into it in more detail I would probably have been possibly one of the biggest property cleaners in the country but Hayhoe I didn’t And now here you are showing everybody how it’s done making England a brighter place one driveway at a time LOL. I did exactly the same as you and turned my ankle really badly a few years ago whilst I was walking across large rocks on the beach. There are ligaments that stretch across the ankle that can tear when you roll your ankle. My foot had exactly the same swelling that you have. The hospital advised me to keep it moving otherwise it will stiffen up - I didn’t listen to them though and now iI don’t have as much flexibility in it as I used to. My advice - definitely keep it moving! !

But. . . You Have to get it checked to know! My Hubby was messing around with our kids in the kitchen during Christmas break a few years ago. The oldest jumped on his back. His foot slipped on some melted ice from the freezer. Down he went. 6' 3" probably 235 lbs. He broke 1 of the tiny bones in the foot by the toes. But. All the rest of the bones were displaced. Luckily he could tell something was Really wrong. So he rode the kid's skateboard back to the living room. Wrapped his foot then elevated it. Since I was working at the Time. And not a compounded fracture. He waited till I could take him to the ER. Got x-rays freaky to see. They called it a lisfranc fracture. 2 surgeries pins screws and 6 months of not walking on it. He is now back to almost (99%). Almost because he can sometimes feel a twinge when he plays tennis. But! He Can Play tennis again! Please be careful!

You can do your own data recovery, but if you are as pc illiterate as you say, please pay someone to do this for you. Get an external hard drive for your business data (a thumb drive is perfect) and keep a backup in a safe place. A safe... is a safe place. As you have just found out, it is easy to stuff up. Back up regularly, often, every week, daily, each time you save etc. I cannot overstate this. I would offer to help you but the other side of the world says no.

Sid, as someone who helps small businesses optimize their sales processes and performance, I am going to recommend you look at investing in a CRM system to manage your clients and sales. These are mostly cloud based now and can integrate most email systems so messages can be centrally tracked, documents like bids can be attached to each customer or account, and some payment systems integrated. Some are even mobile enabled so you could pull up information on your phone or tablet while on the go. Just a suggestion! If you are using OneDrive, make sure you save all your documents you need in the Documents folder that should be pinned in Windows Explorer and that OneDrive Sync is on and use the Personal Vault for your business documents for extra protection. In the settings there are a bunch of Notifications you can turn on, one is to alert you when a lot of Cloud files are going to be deleted, this will make it harder to accidentally delete synced files.

I did look up the temperature. You were getting up to 85-100 plus degrees Fahrenheit comparatively. The parking area turned out nicely and looked well with the manicured lawn. Nice color change on the flagstone looking area. I had noted you did something interesting on the job where you twisted your ankle. You do power washing but on that particular job, you had rather fearlessly dove into a yard cleanup before the power washing. There you were, out with a string trimmer, etc. Now, you were doing something amazing, in that anything that was needed got done. Your injury may have happened a) because it was a very small hidden thing b) because you aren't accustomed to going through a job with massive overgrowth and looking for every odd thing that might cause you harm or hurt you. The job was a remarkable recovery of an area. Do hope that simple things will help your ankle heal. There is a concept that something "bad" might or might not be, only time will tell. The road shove you dealt with, ended up giving you a condition of better equipment overall. Wishing you well on finding an adequate data recovery program, but as you noted, you learned you need some fail protection backups, even written records, and other such things for better future conditions. You are sincere, persistent, hard working, do nice results. We all enjoy watching for that. Perhaps too, people will write in with interesting projects, as you suggested.

Consider a NAS for the videos, even a basic one, and just put in large disk drives. You can set it up, at least in what's called RAID 1 setup... which mirrors one disk to another (so one is unusable, but in case one fails you have the other and you can simply replace the damaged one. It's not a backup however, if you delete something it's still gone. But then you can set it up to replicate the important stuff on cloud services like Google Drive, etc... And maybe use Google Calendar for the calendars :)

I’ve re-injured my ankles and walked it off numerous times in my life. Especially the left ankle. This past winter I broke my left ankle in 3 places….walking carefully. My point is, proper care is very important. My ankle weakened this much because I only cared proper for major major injuries and just “walked-off” far too many moderate injuries. Longevity is the goal, not short term perseverance With that said, I understand taking the hits. It’s been feeling like I’m in the ring with Mike Tyson the last few months. Patient endurance will get you far and you certainly show the determination to pursue it. Just don’t neglect the proper self-care now to prepare for a less pained retirement

for some of the files if you have used a email system you might be able to back up some of them in that route. ( I know it might be a painfully slow way but you could still try) And for the future please make sure you have at least a trippel back up for your business stuff. Like one harddrive directly linked to your computer. also have a offsite server backup. ask said server to make a backup at least once a day and let it report that it did so. then after that have a third harddrive somewhere in your home that acts as the back up for the back up.

If you just lost your files and have not added anything new to that drive yet, you could bring it to some company to restore the files. Even if they are not accessible from Windows, the data is actually still on the drive unless it is overwritten by new files, or you perform a deep scrub of the drive. Did your PC upgrade from Windows 10 to 11? If yes, there should be a folder "Windows.old" on your C drive. Files might be there.

Sid, you should be able to recover that deleted doc with some 3rd party software. I've successfully used EaseUS in the past but not recently. Worth a Google or find a local computer shop. Rarely is something truly deleted

Hi Sid I'm really glad your ankle and foot are starting to get better, the metal cylinder was really high off the ground, so dangerous. I've been worrying about your van security, thank you so much for sharing your security improvements, I feel a lot happier for you 🙂!

I’m sorry you lost all of your data. If you looked at your email, face book and texts to find everyone would that work? You work so hard. I admire you. I’m glad your foot is better. Thank you. May you please take care and stay safe.

Because your business is growing you might consider hiring an online administrative assistant or clerk to keep track of your business records. You wouldn’t need anybody very much during the week but it would give another check to your data. They could do back ups and file categorizations etc. The hardest part of running your own business is doing your own accounting and client tracking. Something to consider. Best of luck I hope you can use some of the suggestions given by other posters to see if you can recover some of your stuff. However you always have a goodAttitude and don’t seem to let things defeat you. I’ve been watching Your channel for a long time now and I’m happy to see how you have progressed in your business and still maintain a good attitude which obviously translates to your customers. Keep doing what you’re doing all the best Mary from Canada

It seems that low water-pressure happens frequently. That makes your job harder and takes longer, so it must be quite the pain in the backside! Glad your foot is improving, but getting it x-rayed might be prudent! Hope you're back to normal soon.

Sorry that happened. It's never fun but it's happened to all of us. I rescued a little dog today from the four lane street near my house. He didn't have any tags, but he did have a little medallion on, so I just sat with him and waited and pretty soon I heard his frantic owner calling him (did I mention that he had on a little sweater). She had just not quite closed the door, and she had ordered new id for him, so there you go. At least she had tracker. And you do too. I think you will be able to rescue at least some customer data from your bank records; will be time consuming, but maybe you can get someone to help with that. A professional could probably get a lot of it back. Or a computer professional may be able to help you.

Awesome Job! P.S. I never understood why ppl put artificial grass in their garden if you literally can't even stand on it after without damaging it
