My family is big on horror films. We had this one movie called like Night of the Demons or something like that. This group of white kids and a black dude go to this old house and awaken this demon, blah, blah. My point the black dude ran through the entire movie, even climbed up barb wire to escape getting killed. At the end him and this white girl were the only survivors. I'll never forget that movie.

LL Cool J survived Deep Rising, and Halloween H20. Brandy survived I know what you did last summer. Danny Glover survived Predator 2. The list goes on and on. Wesley Snips in Blade Series. The problem is most don't care to change the system, and few rather let others do all the work while they go to da clubs.

Event Horizon! , even though Lawrence Fishburne bought it (the captain going down with his ship). The way that Richard T. Jones made beat his situation was EPIC! I think my pals and I jumped up and down and screamed "FINALLY" when we saw this in theaters!

ok I had to think here on this last comment today. I spent four years framing houses, almost totally no blacks, I worked with one and seen no others. So I would say almost no blacks frame houses. It's ok though, I can't sing.

Unfortunately NOTLD is a horrible example in terms of trying to take the position of black characters always dying in horror films. Yes, it fit the formula. But it seemed like the people they interviewed didn't know the history surrounding the film itself....almost implying that the director/writer was racist. Far from it. Also, Duane Jones, the lead in NOTLD was a profound presence in that film, and his role made many a young white person take note that a Black man can be a strong lead in any film.

The movie idea that the second to last brother mentioned could be interesting and fun if done right. The idea about a brother who wakes up and realizes he's in a horror film and must use horror film tricks to survive. I'd would see that movie but it depends on the star and the director.
