I'm not a gamer, but my 17 yr old cousin...well, he spends 98.5% of his life on his xbox and playstation. He's wanted a gaming pc for some years now. So, to make his dream come true, I went down the rabbit hole and found you. And, luckily because he was about to get a random prebuilt based on aesthetics. Now, he's getting a 7800x3d & 7900xtx combo along with a 32" MSI Oled. I had no idea what any of these things were a few weeks ago, and I'm sure he won't even have a clue what he's getting! My only question remaining is whether this setup needs a B650E motherboard like the NZXT N7 that's in my cart? Would another board suit this setup better (economically)? My mom got me the Casio keyboard with light-up keys, an oboe, saxophone, drawing pads, charcoals, paint sets, you name it. Even though money didn't grow on trees for us, she catered to all of my interests and gave me the space to flourish in my own unique way without the burden of heavy judgment or expectations. Just passing it along. And, as ScatterVolt stated, perhaps he will find ways to monetize and share his passions to be self-supporting as he transitions into adulthood!

In a long run, I mean really long run pc is cheaper then consoles. Think about it. Consoles you pay 60$ yearly thing for online, get new consoles generations every 5 years, very limited games due to, they most likely won't have a game ready when new console is available..... look at the current console when thet first released. They had zero games to play for months and years. Pc.... so many games available even console games coming to pc ever since they realize they can sell more games on pc and console together.... honestly why they lock themselves a console? Anyways pc is more freedom then console I would highly recommend it more then console only if only if you are willing to understand how to use a computer. Simple like troubleshooting by yourself, solve to fix something simple as google the answer etc you have no idea how stupid people not willing to learn.

It depends on if you're primary purpose is GAMING. It's very much a middling performer for productivity tasks (relative to other modern processors at or even near that price point). If you're gaming, the 7800X3D is a beast and stronger than almost any other CPU at that task unless you get the new 9800X3D. But, it also depends on what resolution you intend to use for gaming. 1080p gaming, for example, can be aptly handled by far lesser processors and any mid-range GPU from AMD or NVidia.

the 7900x is aactually a pretty good buy for anyone who( like you said) is going to be doing productivity with gaming, I presume there is a increase in preformance from the 7700x to the 7900x but Ive got a pretty beefy gpu along side it (7900xt) and its good enough that its not going to bottle neck the gpu. You make it sound like its not a good deal but honeslty I think it is the best all around general cpu at an affordable price of a little over 300.

No harm in returning your i5 Snag a discounted 7900X and you’ll be set. Or if you can’t afford that, then a snag a Ryzen 7700 through Newegg here: pcbuilds.gg/b/hyiTnw (or for even cheaper on Aliexpress if you wanna wait 3-4 weeks to ship) If you go with that 7900X, undervolt it in the bios as it’ll be in an ITX case so it’ll need lower temps. That won’t be an issue at all for the 7700 however, it runs very cool stock. Good luck

You can use any Ryzen 7000 cpu you’d like. None of them will bottleneck a 7900 GRE. Some CPUs are faster than others though however.

Hey!! I just bought a 7800xt for $419 on amazon!! I’m seeing what you would recommend for cpu and board!! I had my eyes on the 9700x! It’s only like $70 more than the 7700x. Also thinking on pairing it with the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX ICE or should I stick with the elite ax or tomahawk? Would this be a good idea?? Thanks man and been watching all these videos!

Good deal. Best price. You will need a bios update for that 9700X to work on B650 out of the box. You won’t need to with the 7700X. Look at 9700X vs 7700X reviews first before making your purchase. There is a reason why I didn’t mention it in this video.
