There point is always to make money! I lived there for 9 yrs n my best advice to u is do it yourself or show them by practically taking the iron n doing an example several times n when they pretend to do it wrong, take it from their hands n do it again! This people are all abt money n time. They put all these unnecessary things to add to the cost. They think your hair will take too much time that is y they charge more more n do it as fast as possible without doing d roots! Even if another black girl go to that same salon, they would still behave as if it’s their first time to see that type of hair! That has always bothered me! Everyday they see u is the same question and attitude, they refuse to grow n learn new things as long as they think it has nothing to do with them. But there r good ones in the church. Hope u adapt soon...

And how they all gathered after the blow dry as if they had never seen kinky hair before & the fact they f'd up, I literally welled up at the fact they put that acid on your scalp...... I've been natural for 10 years now and the fact that I still struggle to grow my hair natural makes me cringe at the fact that they truly do not know how much work we put into our hair. ..... I rarely wash my hair due to it taking forever to treat at home ..... Your face makes me wanna cry 😭😢 you were crushed but either way your freaking beautiful gorgeous! Protein treatments are used to strengthen your hair, not soften. Them being professionals should've know that. They relaxed your hair because they didn't know how to deal with it.

I remember when I got my hair done in China. They tried to relax my hair and I had to stay very adamant about the fact that I didn't want chemicals in my hair and only wanted a regular wash & dry plus flat ironing. They didn't think that would be enough to manage my tight caribbean curls and I had to remain firm on what I wanted because no one knows my hair like I do. In the end they were surprised to see that I was right.

in asian countries their relaxers are alittle bit different, a lot of women there get them because of the high humidity to keep their hair straight. their relaxers aren’t as strong and don’t have as nasty of a smell. the stylists were very uneducated on other hair types and probably just assumed this was the best way to get your hair straight not realizing how important it was to keep your curl pattern.

But to know that you were growing and caring for your hair for all these years - damn, some of us would have grabbed the sheers and stab them for ruining that! When you mentioned you hadn't flat ironed your hair in so long and already had all that damage, I almost cried once I realized they were relaxing your hair. I'm currently going through the process of weaving out damaged hair I got from flat ironing too much and I can say it really does take a while and perms take EVEN longer. What made me upset was how you just lost all of that progress of returning your hair to its natural state. I wouldn't trust anyone with my hair and especially if I knew the person had no knowledge of what to do with it.

I would have cried after noticing what was happening...they knew what they were doing because the refused to show her the "protein" product....I would have freaked out...am freaking out and it is not even my hair...am sure they took it lightly because they do not know what natural hair means to us...am so pissed...I wouldn't even have paid...I would have just walked out.

Please don't do that. I am in China and I refuse to go to a hairdresser here who does not have black clients. I had my hair done in Korea when I lived in Korea and let me tell you, my hair was LAID! They loved to blow dry and flat iron my hair. I've had natural hair for twenty years and it will stay this way. I only get it flat-ironed when I go for my trims were are every 6 weeks.

It's a process called Japanese Hair Straightening. It's supposed to last like 6 months. They apply the chemical twice and the ends results is how straight they can get your hair with the flat iron.

you could have done your own hair, do a conditioning treatment first, blow dry hair with a diffuser or attached comb for blow dryer and definitely use olive and/or argan oil with a good flat iron (if a flat iron is what you wanted to use), after you did your own hair; Then go to them to give your hair a trim only. At the end of video, you kept saying what is going on, well this is not the salons fault, only yours...how many Black people walk thru that door!? Your hair is a completely different texture than theirs, when they started with the relaxer what did you think they was doing.

This treatment breaks bonds which have to be reset using a peroxide treatment ( the second cream) just like a Jheri curl, except that rather than being set on rods the hair is dried and straightened before neutraliser

When I lived in Asia I did not let anyone touch my hair! My hair got really dry there but I did weekly sometimes bi-weekly honey and egg treatments and that helps like nothing else we must learn to do our hair ourselves. I'm so sorry this happened to you but I'm not surprised.
