The point was that they had one sabotage test where the sous chef intentionally make an error to see if they can catch it to examine the head chef contestant's ability to run the quality control aspect of the hot plate. Chef Scott sent out a different fish to test her and Gordon saw she didn't pass. That was the test. From there, he did it properly, as a talented sous chef selected by Gordon himself, so he was pissed when she didn't realize the previous one was a test. After the error, she felt the need to call him out more, but he was already doing it properly, so he was pissed that she was critiquing his good food, so he called her stupid, while Gordon just watches nothing to say.

I supervise a team and if some staff haven't finished their work by the end of shift then unfortunately myself and whoever have to stay to finish it because the workload would become too much, would start to pile up and we would always be behind. The staff do moan if they have to stay but what they never seem to realise is that I am more annoyed then them because I have worked longer hours then them, done more work than them and so I can get out asap am now doing half of their work for them too. Whether he was actually upset or not, the venting seems clearly intentional to see if she would get bogged down addressing his attitude and lose focus as opposed to just keeping the service going which could let things get backed up or get done wrong, or maybe the attitude was to see if she would stop calling him out if he talked back, and just let the crap slide through which Gordon Ramsey obviously would have noticed and criticized her over it. It especially makes sense with Gordon Ramsey's "run the brigade, don't let the brigade run you" bit when she took charge since almost immediately he's screwing up and mouthing off, and the test would be how she'll handle it since Gordon Ramsey deals up with it in Hell's Kitchen from time to time and keeps driving the service regardless of that sort of crap. From what I scrounged up, she was an Executive Chef at a restaurant on Miami Beach after Hell's Kitchen, also along with Ben. The same one from that season. That closed in 2014 unfortunately. After that, she returned to 3030 Ocean again but as an Executive Chef, now. She also worked with La Tasha from Season 13 there for a bit, and even worked with Sous Chef Andi at Ocean Reef! She's launched Paula DeSilva Culinary as a chef and consultant. Opened up a restaurant in Miami (The Artisan Beach House), has been an Executive Chef at the Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, and lastly, is married to a pastry chef and has two kids.

Paula lost because Danny was a bit more assertive in the kitchen and got more out of his brigade. It was very close but Danny did deserve to win. Paula would easily win in most other seasons, so the fact that she lost tells you how good her opponent was. Andrea though, no way, she caught so many breaks.
