I was thinking my worst critic would be my mother’s mom…mi abuelita. She’s the matriarch of the family and is quite particular. Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mom’s passing but her mom is still alive. She’s already asked for my homemade tortilla recipe which is an honor for me. ❤

actually they are not away for 2 weeks. this show is filmed roughly in a month. and the reason why some are so emotional is because they have been there doing hectic stuff over a month. seeing they havent seen any of their friends+families or any of their usual support systems from home in that entire time. so they are around people who they barely even know for month during very stressful time. so they havent seen their husbands/kids in that entire time.@@meanjean3023

doing a fancy gourmet pizza can be a real challenge because it's just not on the menu at all for most american restaurants, and also isn't the type of dish you'd make at home. if you haven't gotten the chance to at least try a couple and see the standard, then your ideas are probably going to be not that good and it's still easy to botch the execution. compare that with a good steak or potato dish, which you've eaten and cooked a thousand times and have a more grounded idea on what to experiment with.

In her defense, she did fight to do the Pizza. (8:53 - 9:07) She admits that she doesn't feel comfortable doing the pasta, and wants to do the Pizza. As she predicted Carrie DOES mess up the Pizza, and we find out that Elise being uncomfortable doing the pasta was a correct worry since she also fails to impress. Carrie should have done the Pasta for two different reasons, number one, considering she was the individual with the biggest workload due to having to lead the team doing Pasta would have left Carrie the most amount of opportunity to focus on other matters while cooking thanks to the long amounts of free time when cooking pasta. Number Two, It'd have also been the option that was best for her teammates since then Elise would have been able to work the Dish she was most comfortable working with. They won regardless, however they could have won with further grace had Carrie been a better leader.

I agree with that girl on the cobb salad. Either she should of got the point or nobody because the donuts salad was not a cobb salad. The protein can be steak, pork, chicken but it's usually chicken in some form and always bite sized, not salmon filets. Every legit cobb salad has blue cheese which I would not pair with salmon.

@@SuperBigblue19My point is that the first chef, who made the classic cobb salad, did not follow the instructions of the challenge, which is why they did not get a point. The task was to transform an American classic into a fine dining dish.

I know theres a reason he doesnt always do it, but I kinda wish Ramsey and the Judges would taste the dishes that were dropped and decide from there who should win, kind of a way to show if the team that had the dropped dish(es) can recognize food that is better than the other. Of course in cases like this where there are too many dropped dishes a problem could arise but in that case falling back to the more traditional "decide which dish was the best from the ones you had first" works.
@vdd1001
@vdd1001 11 ай бұрын
They usually do it without judging. Like with the exotic meats challenge, where Michelle's dish was dropped and they said they'd all give it a 5/5. But there's also the king crab challenge, where Andrea and Ben's dishes were disappointing so Gordon judged Paula and Danny instead (the strongest chefs of the season)
