Junior Kimbroughs breath is caught perfectly by these two guys. Amazing. Greetings from Germany!

Such a simple song, but it says so much. Patrick is killing the drums while Dan makes the guitar bleed. This jam is the shit.

you'd be amazed how wonderful they are live. Dan makes it sound like more than just one guitarist. it is truly amazing. I was not bored, not for one second. I was entranced!

That's exactly what happened to me, I found myself learning all their stuff, and they have totally rekindled my love for playing blues guitar. And they got me into Captain Beefheart and J.K. Great band.

this is such a bad ass video. hipnotic and beautifully syncrinized between guitar and drums
@wisea5s14 жыл бұрын
saw them at bonnaroo. The three greatest feelings in life are falling in love with someone, discovering a crazy good band, and reading an awesome book. When I learned about these guys I was drawn in, but I after I saw their live I was hooked for life. Listen to Blakroc, their hip hop collabo.

I have noticed the majority of Kimbrough recordings sound in Ab, whether he played in A or not, I don't know, but there are many Ab tunes, almost all, a few in G, and only a couple up to the A that is "standard", I guess, A440. So those tuning along with the recordings should keep this in mind, I think....?

The stripes can pull off the punk delta blues thing quite well. The Black Keys tend to take the hypnotic Kimbrough approach. Different styles, both awesome. Obviously Son House was a big influence on Dan and Jack.

architeuthis100 said -- "Jack White needs to sit in front of this guy and learn." I will have to agree with you. I can't picture Death Letter Blues being clobbered to death by this band. I do like the WS though -- they're just a different band with a different focus.

no, you should compare them. they are both guitar and drum, both draw on old blues for roots, both use a slide. I mean, for god's sake, how similar do you have to get?? Anyway, though I do love them, Jack White needs to sit in front of this guy and learn.

These guys are fantastic. However, the best blues today is coming out of the guitar of Joe Bonamassa. Period! Not taking anything away from these guys, though, because they're doing their thing. But when people state that these guys are the best blues/bluesrock artists out today, one must eventually do their research.
